By Jason Litt
Need to connect with your kids with their pop music through general music? Involve them in bucket drumming with Our #1 selling Imagine Dragons' hit, "Believer"!
There are three all-color coded slides along with the form identifiers listed next to each phrase. Discuss form with the students and teach them (by rote) the rhythms on the powerpoint with the corresponding repeats (most are repeated 4, 6, or 8 times). Then, apply it to drums!
All regular notation is to be played on the buckets (or drums, or ground, however you wish), and the X notation (with a down stem) are played as stick clicks above their head (or you could apply it to a tambourine or other auxiliary instrument)
Here's the track so you can play along...

Half Note Lesson Using Too Much Glue Book
By Creating Musical Literature
Use this wonderful book from Jason Lefebvre to teach and reinforce half notes! Chant this by giving the words "glue", "you" and "do" an extra beat and then ask your students to determine how many beats these words get. Have them move like they're stuck in glue while chanting to internalize the beat. Then use the beat chart and worksheet provided to learn and decode the half note beat. Add rhythm sticks to play the beats as a way to add in instruments. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade.

Lucky Clovers Term Matching Game
By ZS Music Publishing
Test your student's luck by playing the Lucky Clovers matching game. Just like a regular matching game, the object is to match a term to its appropriate symbol. The term is on one half of the clover, and the symbol is on the other half. Lucky Clovers can also be used as a memory game as well. Since the document is mostly black and white, I highly suggest these sheets be printed on green paper - copy paper or cardstock and then laminated for durability.
