This is a competitive pitch matching name in powerpoint format. The learning goal is for 2nd grade students to name pitches as fast as they can (beginner level, just the spaces!) :) We usually play this game 'around the world' style. We start off on the left side or right side of the the room and the first two people stand up and you flash a note on the screen. The student who gets the note correct gets to move onto the next child in the class while the other student sits. That student has to make their way through the entire class before being deemed champion... but they could be beat at ANY TIME! You can mix it up, left side, right side, boys/girls, etc. Kids get ultra competitive!

If you're working on melodic contours, high and low, and direction, this may be for you!

Included are 16 printable cards you can reproduce, cut out, and issue to your students.

Play these melodies on a piano, clarinet, slide whistle, however you wish! Then, ask the students to place the card which they think best resembled the melody you played.
Although there are 16 cards, you can ask students to do 4 cards a time (by telling them which cards they are to us), play the melody, and then they can choose from the multiple choice answers you allotted to them.

The image files can be put into a powerpoint as well and you can us it as an answer key after you play the melodic example.

Just in time for St. Patricks Day, this themed matching game allows your little piano stars to match basic terms and symbols on a rainbow! Students will match the term in the cloud (on the left side) with the symbol on the rainbow (on the right side). Correct matches will show the rainbow connecting the term with the symbol.

There are 4 cards per sheet, but the sheet should be printed whole. Printing instructions are included in the file.

Originally created for my private studio, Music Money is an incentive program that can be easily adapted to fit any classroom or learning situation for all ages. This incentive program can also help students learn about earning, saving, and spending money. The Music Money package includes $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills, 6 bills per page, in black and white, so that you may have the freedom print and copy onto any color of paper you wish! Each sheet has 6 cards on it and has 4 Quarter Notes cards and 2 8th Note cards. All you have to do is print out, cut and go! For durability and longevity, you may print out on card stock and/or laminate the cards.

For use in your piano studio, here is an early version of the Piano Assignment Sheet that I used in student's lessons. On the sheet, there is space for vocabulary, a scale and a scale visual for students (small keyboard and fingerings). On the "playlist", you may put up to 5 items for students to work on between lessons. The N/M/R: New Piece, Memorized, Review. One of these would be circled so you and the student know the urgency in practice. The Plus, Minus, and Check are a small rating system for you to assess student preparation (on the next lesson). The practice log is for a student to show how much they practice, and on what day between their lessons.
