Have some sorting Transportation Vehicles with this fun Vehicles Sorting Activity! Learners will sort the vehicles based on where the vehicle travels (land, water or air).

The file includes three title cards (land, water and air vehicles), and 8 cards for each category, providing a total of 24 picture cards to sort!

First, introduce the child to the different modes of transportation by using the title cards. Explain to them also how they can identify, for example an aeroplane has wings that allow it to fly, a boat has oars that you can row in the water and so on. The title card includes a picture of the sky, sea and road making sorting even more realistic and easier!

Where is the black cat? This pumpkin themed sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

What is Included:

• Sight word cards for the 10 sight words listed.

The cards are available in two formats, 6 to a page and 4 to a page to accommodate different sized pocket charts. (6 to a page coming soon)

How to Play:

Where's the Black Cat is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a cat is hidden behind a pumpkin. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the cat is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the cat is behind the pumpkin, then the cat must be hidden again to play further. If the cat is not behind the pumpkin, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

This sight word worksheet packet contains eight no prep worksheets for practicing reading, writing and spelling the target sight word. The sight word is taught in context with targeted sight word reading fluency passages and unscrambling sentences pages. Other sight word activities include tracing the sight word, writing the sight word and spelling the sight word. There is also a page included for students to get creative and decorate the sight word. This packet focuses on the sight word a.

This packet contains the following activities:

• Build a Sentence: Students will cut out the words and unscramble the sentence using their sight word. They will then draw a picture of what the sentence is about.
• Sight Word Practice Sheet: Students will color the sight word, trace the sight word, write the sight word and finally cut out the letters that spell the word and paste them in the correct boxes.
• Sight Word Word Search: Students will color the sight word, draw the sight word, trace the sight word and finally find the sight word in the word search.

These are basic 2 and 3 phoneme Elkonin boxes. I say a word and the students practice saying the sounds in the word while the circles drop down into the box. You could also say the sounds and have the students guess the word. Sometimes we think of what letter makes the sound and write it in the box. Circles drop on click into the box. This is a PDF Form with the Third Hundred Fry's Instant Words. As the student reads the words, the assessor touches the box next to the word if it is correct. The form automatically counts the number correct and displays it in the upper right corner. There is also a table to add date and number correct to see improvement over time. This works very well on an iPad with an app like Adobe Expert. I like to use the Fry's Instant Word PowerPoint presentation in conjunction with this form.
