Choose between three versions of this "All about Insects" emergent reader! The booklet will have 8 pages total (including the cover). The first version has all words printed. The second has words printed in a dotted font so they can trace certain words. The third has fill-in-the-blank sections for students to answer as they follow along in your lesson (use the copy with all words printed as your guide). Mix and match the booklets to best fit the needs of your students. The clip art from David's Simple Teaching is the perfect blend of kid-friendly and realistic. This NO PREP activity is perfect to get students excited to read and get ready for Easter! Students will sequence pictures from the story There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Chick. Simply print the two pages, color, cut, and sequence! Perfect for young learners and special education.

Collect data and keep track of progress with these assessment charts. Highlight missed words, record the date, and track number and percentage correct. Assessment charts include pre-primer through second-grade level Dolch sight words. Each sheet contains multiple charts of the same level words.

Students can use this blending board to "drive" small cars to each letter, stopping at the circles to state the letter sounds. Students can "drive" the cars faster or more slowly to practice blending sounds to make words.

Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

Print and laminate alphabet arc, picture cards, and arrow. Punch a hole where indicated on the alphabet arc and attach the arrow to the arc with a brad. 

Students will draw a picture card, place it in the box under the arc, and match the picture to its beginning sound (with the exception of boX for X) by rotating the spinning arrow to point to the correct letter. Alternately, students could turn over a card and place it in front of them, rotate the arrow to the correct letter, and then write the letter with a dry erase marker in the box below the arc for additional writing practice. Pictures coordinate with the key words from the Phonics First program, but this product is in no way related to Orton-Gillingham or its affiliates.

Use with the book There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Rose. Students can read the story and use the picture "leaves" to sequence the events of the story as they add leaves to their rose.

Includes a differentiated sequencing assessment (fill in the blank and multiple choice versions) along with a list of seven easy ways to differentiate instruction with this resource.

Use these practice pages to reinforce letter skills such as identifying beginning sounds, letter formation, and letter identification. Laminate or place in page protector for repeated use.

This super sight word game is a great way to get your little super heroes excited about reading! Game cards include pre-primer, primer, first grade, and second grade Dolch sight words, each marked for easy differentiation based on level. Download, print, laminate, and cut the cards and spinner. Students will spin and land on a number (one or two to practice as many words as possible). Some spaces say "draw 2." That means the student will draw and read two cards. On "action" spaces, you get to choose what the student can do. Use these spaces as an extra turn, lose a turn, or a battle! In a battle, each student can choose a card and attempt to read it. Any card read is kept; cards read incorrectly will return to the pile. Clip art in the game is from Krista Wallden with Creative Clips.

This is a quick and easy letter assessment to help identify your child's ability. I used the research behind LETRS and the science of reading to create this assessment.
