With four differentiated versions of the text and two differentiated assignments, this Valentine's Day activity is perfect for every student in your class!

Work on independent reading by choosing which of the four differentiated passages is most appropriate for each student. After reading, students can take a reading comprehension assessment (short answer and multiple choice versions available) and participate in a writing assignment (with available sentence stems).

This resource is ready to print and go! No PREP necessary.

Collect data and keep track of progress with these assessment charts. Highlight missed words, record the date, and track number and percentage correct. Assessment charts include pre-primer through second-grade level Dolch sight words. Each sheet contains multiple charts of the same level words.

This fun St. Patrick's Day activity uses the story There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Clover to get students excited about sequencing!

Students will listen to the book and sequence the images from the story.

I have listed SEVEN ways to differentiate this activity to make it suitable for every student in your classroom- no extra planning time or accommodations required!

Students will gain practice identifying and spelling primer level Dolch sight words with this fun spaghetti and meatballs game. Allow the students to select a spaghetti word bowl, or the teacher can "order" specific words on fun "Let me take your order" sheets. Perfect for small group instruction or early finishers. Print all sheets and laminate. Cut apart. You can add velcro pieces if you like to keep the metball letters secured to the spaghetti bowls.

This template can be used with ANY book. I chose to use Spookley the Square Pumpkin as an example. Print and go; easy to assemble with minimal help. Pre-cut the pieces for students who need it.

These stories each focus on a different vowel to encourage long and short vowel sounds identification and differentiation. The stories also allow students the opportunity to practice sequencing the events in the story after they've read it.

Use with the book There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Rose. Students can read the story and use the picture "leaves" to sequence the events of the story as they add leaves to their rose.

Includes a differentiated sequencing assessment (fill in the blank and multiple choice versions) along with a list of seven easy ways to differentiate instruction with this resource.

Use these simple stories to assess sequencing a story. The simple passages are great for young learners or learners in special education.

Choose between three versions of this "All about Insects" emergent reader! The booklet will have 8 pages total (including the cover). The first version has all words printed. The second has words printed in a dotted font so they can trace certain words. Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

This super sight word game is a great way to get your little super heroes excited about reading! Game cards include pre-primer, primer, first grade, and second grade Dolch sight words, each marked for easy differentiation based on level. Download, print, laminate, and cut the cards and spinner. Students will spin and land on a number (one or two to practice as many words as possible). Some spaces say "draw 2." That means the student will draw and read two cards. On "action" spaces, you get to choose what the student can do. Use these spaces as an extra turn, lose a turn, or a battle! In a battle, each student can choose a card and attempt to read it. Any card read is kept; cards read incorrectly will return to the pile. Clip art in the game is from Krista Wallden with Creative Clips.

Your students struggle to pay attention when reading or listening. They are wigglers who need something to keep them active in a positive way that encourages their learning.
