Book Sequence and Inference
Why do you need this?
Your students struggle to pay attention when reading or listening. They are wigglers who need something to keep them active in a positive way that encourages their learning. They have a hard time knowing what is important about a topic or a book, and they need specific prompts to know what to write and where to write it.

Turkey Sequencing Activity- There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey
By Rebekah Poe Teaching
Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.
This is included in my sequencing activity bundle available here.

These labels are for Kindergarten through fifth grade. They include labels for supplies, IEPs, Parent Communication, worksheets, etc. And they match my meet the teacher letter and graphics.

By Rebekah Poe Teaching
This super sight word game is a great way to get your little super heroes excited about reading! Game cards include pre-primer, primer, first grade, and second grade Dolch sight words, each marked for easy differentiation based on level. Download, print, laminate, and cut the cards and spinner. Students will spin and land on a number (one or two to practice as many words as possible). Some spaces say "draw 2." That means the student will draw and read two cards. On "action" spaces, you get to choose what the student can do. Use these spaces as an extra turn, lose a turn, or a battle! In a battle, each student can choose a card and attempt to read it. Any card read is kept; cards read incorrectly will return to the pile. Clip art in the game is from Krista Wallden with Creative Clips.

1st Grade Find and write the tiny HMH Spelling Words
By Ms Garcia Store
A great resource for working on the 300 first-grade HMH spelling words of the week writing the tiny words hidden in the drawing. There are a total of 36 weeks.
Download the first module of this resource for free when subscribing to our newsletter!!
Your students will have to look with a magnifying glass for the tiny words of the HMH week hidden in the pictures of animals and write them in the boxes. They will also be able to write a sentence using one or several words of the week and color the drawing whoever wants or finishes soon.
There is no better way to learn vocabulary than to write the words after paying close attention to how they are written.
There are two different resources available:
Both products can be purchased separately, but also together for a lower price.
Differentiation:
For children with greater ease when it comes to tracing the hidden words, I'd use the "Find and write" resource, while for the rest, I would opt for the "Find, circle, and trace" resource.
You will find three PDF files with three different font sizes of the hidden words for children with problems seeing words due to their visual ability. Use the one that suits each child or your group best. The two smaller ones will require the use of a magnifying glass, but most will be able to read the larger one without using it.
I hope your students enjoy this very motivating activity. Let me know in your comments.

1st Grade Memory Game HMH High-frequency and Decodable Words- Module 1
By Ms Garcia Store
Exciting Memory Game to Enhance First-Grade Students' Learning of HMH Sight Words!
Try the first 3 weeks of this incredible resource and unlock the full set by clicking on the following link for only $8.50!
Memory Game HMH High-Frequency and Decodable Words
The set consists of 36 unique decks, one for each week, providing a comprehensive learning experience. Students will practice 8 High-Frequency Words and up to 6 Decodable Words per week with every deck, resulting in exposure to more than 400 words!
How to Play:
The game starts with all the cards face down, and players take turns flipping over two cards. If the two cards reveal the same word, they must write it on their recording sheet and keep the cards. If the words don't match, they turn the cards face down again. The winner is the player with the most cards when all cards have been taken. If some students find the game challenging, they can opt to play with the cards face-up for added support.
Ideas to Play:
- Engage in Memory Game sessions with High-Frequency Words, Decodable Words, or both simultaneously each week for a varied and dynamic learning experience.
- Integrate different weeks of the same module to reinforce word retention at the end of a unit, ensuring lasting mastery of the sight words.
- Utilize the versatile cards for an array of engaging games. For instance, print the cards of several weeks or even modules once for each table or group of students, all face-up. Challenge them to find the words you announce before other groups do. The first group to find the word keeps the card and records it. The group with the most cards at the end emerges victorious!
- Foster active learning by allowing students to pick a card from a deck, write the word, and then select another card. This repetition reinforces word recognition and writing skills.
- Encourage cooperative learning by pairing students. One student can pick a card and dictate the word to their partner, who will write it down. Learning together through rote practice!
- For an additional challenge, have one student in a pair pronounce the sounds of each letter in the word while their partner writes it down.
If you have more innovative ideas, feel free to share them with us in your review.
How to Print:
To print the cards, first print the front of the cards. After that, reload the printed sheets into the printer and print the back design. For sturdiness, use thicker paper, and consider laminating them for enhanced durability.
Pages 1 to 10 are the front of the cards, while pages 11 and 12 are the back. You can try both designs to see which one aligns better with your printer. Additionally, page 13 provides 4 recording sheets to write down the pairs of words you create during the game.
Prepare for an enjoyable and effective learning journey with our engaging Memory Game for HMH Sight Words. Happy learning!

Sight Word Game: Go Fish; 107 Zeno words
By K3 Homeschool Foundations
Use in centers, small groups, or as an early finisher activity. My kids are always begging me to play this game!
This game includes all 107 Zeno Sight Words. I teach the 107 Sight Words because they are the most narrowed-down list of the most commonly used words in texts. It is important your child can read these words quickly and accurately for success in reading!
I broke the words up into 8 sets so that each set would have 52 cards to keep the game engaging and not too long! This also allows you to easily differentiate the game by choosing the set that has more words that your child needs to work on! Each set is color-coded so if cards get mixed up you can easily find their place!
Included:
Go Fish Rules
8 sets of cards
Each set has 52 cards
Endless amounts of fun!
*Prep time is needed. I suggest you print these on card stock and laminate them for more durability. Printing on normal paper will work too! Print the set of cards and cut them out!
