Sadness Focused Social and Emotional Regulation Learning Read Aloud Activities

Emotions are BIG in preschool classrooms and at home! In order to learn and grow, children first need to be able to express how they feel and why they feel that way. Placing an emphasis on social emotional learning will help equip your students with skills to become better learners and ultimately better people. This learning unit has been designed with children aged 3 to 4 years old in mind, and contains 10 games, drawing activities and crafts to engage learners**.**
Play and Purposes Feelings unit focuses on:
The 10 lessons included in this unit include 5 activity types:
The 2 week unit focuses on sadness and what feelings look like in those around us. Many lessons contain ways to scaffold the learning to your students and allow for the most learning to take place as possible!

Thanksgiving Craft Activity Controlling Anger & Managing Emotions Coping Skills

Teach students all about controlling anger and regulating their emotions with these fun and engaging Thanksgiving calming strategies & coping skills activities! Students will be captivated and engaged by the troubled turkey looking for a calming strategy feather to make his tail complete again.
Included in this Download:
Activity #1. The Trouble Turkey Printable Book
Activity #2. Pin the Tail on the Turkey Activity
Activity #1, the printable book, includes moveable parts and interactive activities that help students learn about controlling anger. Students see various scenarios and choose a calming strategy feather that will best help the turkey keep calm. By teaching the turkeys calming strategies and coping skills, students will learn about controlling anger.
Activity #2, students read a scenario card, then "pin" a feather on the turkey. Students love getting to add a calming strategy feather to the turkey's tail.
These interactive and engaging activities are sure to captivate and educate your students. Teach students coping skills and calming strategies for controlling anger with these awesome activities!

By teaching these calming strategies and coping skills, students will learn more about how to control anger.
