Home-School Communication Books with 2 different versions
By SEN Resource Source
Two different home-school communication books that allow a teacher to write messages for the parent about the child’s behavior that day as well as spaces for the parent to write messages back and even for the children to write their own reflections about their behavior.
Why do you need this?
These communication books promote transparent communication between teachers and parents regarding the child's behavior. Parents receive firsthand information about their child's conduct at school, fostering trust and collaboration between home and school environments.
The books enable teachers to provide timely feedback to parents about the child's behavior on a daily basis. This allows parents to stay informed about any issues or successes promptly, enabling them to address concerns or reinforce positive behavior effectively.
What is included?
2 different versions of a home-communication book. The first one shows boxes for what went well and what was difficult and then boxes for children to reflect on their emotions.
The second has boxes for what happened in the morning and afternoon and then a box for the child’s comments and a box for the parents comments.
By SEN Resource Source
This comprehensive set of social stories is designed to help prepare children for the arrival of a new baby brother or sister. The stories are crafted to ease the transition, addressing the emotions and changes that come with welcoming a new sibling, while providing reassurance and highlighting the positive aspects of the experience. The set includes four different versions to tailor the story to the child's unique situation:
· Mom is pregnant
· Single Mom having a baby
· New baby brother (after birth)
· New baby sister (after birth)
These social stories provide comfort, clarity, and support to children, making the transition to becoming an older sibling smoother and more joyful.
What is included?
As well as a different versions of a 12 page social story there is also a shortened adapted book version of the story with movable pictures to attach to each page.
Why do you need this?
The point of a social story is to use a patient and reassuring tone to teach children about social situations in a way that can be easily understood. Social stories can be useful for any child who is struggling to understand a situation or concept or needs help to understand a social skill or social cue, expectations, perspectives, common responses or is troubled about an upcoming event but social stories are particularly useful for children on the autistic spectrum for whom social cues can be challenging and who often suffer anxiety if they do not know what to expect from a situation.
How and when might you use this?
· To implement a social story, you should first ensure that you have eliminated distractions; that it is just you and the child sitting together focussed on the story.
· Initially you should read the story through twice with the child but it is then vital to revisit it regularly.
· Try to find a way to incorporate the story into the child's daily schedule.
· If the story is relating to a particular inappropriate behavior, it is useful to read the story when this behavior occurs, you do not however want the story to be seen as any kind of punishment.
· Regularly praise your child and keep it a positive experience.
These books should be used over and over to reinforce the point so I would suggest either putting the pages into a display book or laminating and binding them.
SEL Feelings Flip Book - Classroom Guides for Students + Staff
By Jeni Donath
This social-emotional learning flip book is a classroom must have! This easy to follow and easy to access resource is designed to not only promote discussions around all things feelings and emotions, but also provides resources and strategies for students and teachers to reference. This digital download contains both a flip book for students (a simplified guide just for students) as well as a corresponding teacher's guide that goes hand in hand with what the students are seeing, too! This resource provides teacher's guidance on how to ask specific questions depending on the emotions of a student, as well as provides potential helpful strategies for the student to work through the feelings.
The thing I love most about this resource is the connection that it can create within your classroom. Teachers are not always able to take away whatever may be causing challenges for their students, but they are always able to offer help and support. This resource is designed to help teachers navigate those conversations and offer that extra support where it may be needed, while also giving students ideas on how to work through how they might be feeling. When students are having big feelings - they aren't ready to learn. It is important to take the time to work through those feelings to create a more productive and supportive learning environment for all - without dismissing any feelings, but still moving forward with our learning!

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION - Accommodations and Strategies - NSCW
By All Therapy Resources
"Creating a Classroom for All – Accommodations and Strategies for Diversity and Inclusion" is an invaluable resource for teachers and educators seeking to foster an inclusive learning environment. In today's classrooms, students come from diverse backgrounds and bring with them unique experiences that can create learning barriers. This comprehensive diversity and inclusion resource aims to break down those barriers and help teachers better understand the perspectives of their students to create a more inclusive learning experience.
This diversity and inclusion resource offers a first-hand narrative, giving teachers a glimpse into what a student may be experiencing in terms of feelings, body sensations, and cognitive processing. By building empathy and compassion, teachers can become strong advocates for their students and implement accommodations and strategies to help them succeed.
In addition to narratives, this diversity and inclusive resource provides a list of accommodations and supports that can be implemented to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. It also offers reflective questions for teachers and educators to ensure that they have considered each student's unique needs and circumstances.
Please note that this diversity and inclusion resource includes hypothetical first-person accounts of experiences, which are intended to help teachers understand how a student's circumstance may influence their learning capacity. It is not meant to diminish or trivialize any individual's experience. "Creating a Classroom for All" is a versatile and powerful tool that empowers educators to embrace diversity and foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.

PARENT / CHILD BOND & ATTACHMENT Homework - 2 week program - SPANISH VERSION
By All Therapy Resources
COUNSELING AND THERAPY RESOURCE – 2 WEEK PROGRAM (RELATIONAL ACTIVITIES) - BUILDING PARENT CHILD BOND & ATTACHMENT - HOMEWORK FOR PARENTS
Your time is your best investment you can make in your children…With that said, these are two weeks of daily activities to help build and strengthen the bond and attachment between parents and children. This can be done with any gender parent or child.
This homework is for the parents, not the children. How does this work? Simply print out the two week calendars and put them somewhere safe. Every day read through the activity scheduled for that day and look for an opportunity to complete that activity. These are great activities if you or your child are feeling a little detached and not feeling as attuned as you would like to be.
Remember to embrace your child’s unique qualities, hug them everyday and take the time to relax and enjoy the moments and memories with them. The moments do not last, but the memories will.
