Valentine's Day Reading Comprehension and Sequencing Craft

Students will love this Valentine's Day themed, educational activity that goes along with one of my favorite Valentine's Day books: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose.

Use with the book There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Rose. Students can read the story and use the picture "leaves" to sequence the events of the story as they add leaves to their rose.

Includes a differentiated sequencing assessment (fill in the blank and multiple choice versions) along with a list of seven easy ways to differentiate instruction with this resource.

This is just one page of my St. Patrick's Day Math Packet! Using this page, students will cut out the pictures and finish the AB and ABB patterns with fun St. Patrick's Day clip art from CK Clipart.

Students will use these sentence parts to answer who, what, when, where, and why to build a sentence or short story. Handwriting paper is included with a box at the top to illustrate the sentence/story they wrote with their WH sentence strips. Print the WH question page on colorful paper for even more fun.

As a special education teacher, I use these to communicate with the general education teachers about what accommodations were given on which assessments. The post-it template allows me to print directly on to a post-it note to make it even more quick and convenient. Print a template, cover the squares with post-its, and place the paper back into the printer. The direction of the paper will vary based on the model of the printer, but for me, I put them in upside down and facing backwards.

Updated to include word form!

Students can use these cards to match two and three-digit numbers with their base ten block representations and their expanded form. Use the cards individually to create even more activities. For example, give students the three digit number card and have them build the number using actual base ten blocks. You can also give the students the clip art cards and have them write the three digit numbers or the numbers in expanded form. The possibilities are endless and easily differentiated for every learner.

Base Ten Clip Art from Pink at Heart

Students will roll a die, count the dots, and color in a box above the corresponding number. Students can count how many times each number was rolled to find which had the most and fewest rolls.

10 addition problems with sums up to ten. Includes space at the bottom for sorting manipulatives. Good for pre-assessment and post-assessment. Editable so you can change problems if needed.

Students will read and sort words based on common vowel pair sounds ea, ai, and oa. Visuals are added as prompts to help the students remember the sounds.

Use this sheet to assess your student counting to 50. Highlight missed/prompted numbers to see where mistakes are occurring.

Choose between three versions of this "All about Insects" emergent reader! The booklet will have 8 pages total (including the cover). The first version has all words printed. The second has words printed in a dotted font so they can trace certain words. The third has fill-in-the-blank sections for students to answer as they follow along in your lesson (use the copy with all words printed as your guide). Mix and match the booklets to best fit the needs of your students. The clip art from David's Simple Teaching is the perfect blend of kid-friendly and realistic. Use these mats for small groups or independent practice with one or two dice. Students roll the dice, count the dots, use manipulatives to represent the number, locate the number, and practice writing the number. Print and laminate the sheet or put it in a page protector to use with a dry erase marker for repeated use.
