Ce document comprend maintenant un modèle pour les élèves à créer des graphiques, des fiches de travail pour répondre aux questions relatives à leurs conclusions ainsi qu'une clé de correction pour chacun des scénarios.

Les élèves reçoivent des scénarios comprenant :

• Sondage du maire sur les véhicules électriques et à essence ;
• L'enquête d'un enseignant de maternelle sur les animaux de compagnie préférés ;
• Une dispute démocratique autour d'une sortie scolaire de fin d'année ;
• Un aperçu de la croissance de deux plantes différentes au cours de 10 semaines ;
• Une étude réalisée pour comparer la température au cours d'une journée.

Ces activités sont PARFAITES pour l'évaluation, pour la révision, pour les centres, pour un plan de remplacement ou pour les cliniques de mathématiques. Les élèves doivent créer des diagrammes à bandes ou des diagrammes à ligne brisée avec les données collectées puis répondre aux questions liées aux tables des valeurs qui les amènent à fouiller dans les données et à expliquer leurs choix. Chaque page a un scénario et une situation différents. Il y a suffisamment d'activités pour 5 cours de mathématiques!

Here is a FIVE Station activity on probability. Students rotate through the stations working on different aspects of probability with decks of cards.

**NOTE - I actually use this in a 7 station setup. One station is group 1-on-1 with me and another group is at the computers. (See last thumbnail for explanation.)

Are you tired of teaching each data display in isolation? Use this card sort to help your students see the connections between the four representations of data: box plots, histograms, stem and leaf plots and dot plots.

There are 15 sets of cards to match with 3 different displays of the same data in each match. Students will attend to the range, spread, median, mode and variability to tell which displays represent the same data sets.

Questions to prompt student thinking and discussion questions/slides are included.

This is a very engaging activity that gets all students thinking and talking about the mean, median, mode, range and the shape of distributions. I use this activity the day after covering mean, median, mode, range, and skewed right/left.

Each student chooses an envelope out of 3 color choices. For example, they can choose from yellow, red, or blue envelopes.​

Each "round" one piece of information is revealed and students are allowed to trade their envelopes with each other with the goal of ending up with the highest number. ​

​

The pieces of information they can choose to be revealed are the mean, median, mode, range, and shape of the distribution. ​As more information is revealed they have more opportunities to trade, using the information provided to determine the best color to have at the end.

The Median can be a difficult concept for students to master. A relevant approach to teaching the statistical value of the Median is to have students determine the High and Low temperatures of the weather for a week. This statistics graphs 4-piece puzzle is a fun way to test students ability interpret data. Students match the images of fruit to the frequency table and two graph representations (pie charts and bar graphs). It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Although this product is made in colour, it prints perfectly well in black and white. Each puzzle is the size of an A4 of US Letter sheet. To use less paper, select the pages per sheet option, and the puzzles will be smaller, but still high quality.

This activity offers a different way to teach tally and pie charts. Students choose 20 fruit cards from the fruit deck (or any amount you choose from the 45 cards if you wish to make things more challenging). We recommend that 20 cards offers the most interesting collection to work with, while also being a factor of 360.

Students collect the data of their chosen cards and write it on the tally sheet. On the same sheet is a column for working out the number of degrees needed for constructing the pie chart. Two pie chart sheets are included, one with the key in colour, and one with the key ready for colouring. Alternatively, get students to construct the pie chart from scratch in their books or a separate piece of paper.

The nature of this activity means that each student should, in theory, produce their own pie chart, unique from other students in the class.

The first is a pack of six worksheets by LittleStreams the first four are of increasing difficulty drawing pie charts from tables and another two worksheets of increasingly difficulty drawing pie charts from bar charts. Solutions are provided for each worksheet. The second pack in this free download is a treasure hunt on reading and interpreting pie charts, it is differientated to three levels were the green (hardest) level is suitable for GCSE Higher. We have also included both a UK and a US version of each sheet to account for the different spelling of the word colour/color, as well as differentiated versions of the worksheets themselves for those who need a little help with matching the fireworks to the value they need to tally.

This activity offers a different way to teach tally and pictographs. Students choose 20 sweet cards from the sweet deck (or any amount you choose from the 45 cards). We recommend that 20 cards offers the most interesting collection to work with.

Students are invited to collect the data of their chosen cards and write it on the tally sheet. Finally, the students will then plot it on a pictograph. Three pictograph sheets are included, one that has a key of one image = one sweet, one of one image = 2 sweets, and a final one where students can input their own ratio of image to sweets.
