Time Capsule Treasures: A Blast from the Past and a Peek into the Future!

Are you ready to bury some amazing memories? This year-end activity sheet is your chance to create a time capsule filled with treasures that tell the story of YOU in 3rd-5th grade!

Get ready to explore the adventures of the year with these fun activities:

1. Double Take!: Draw a picture of yourself at the beginning of the year and now. Have you grown taller? Changed your hairstyle? See how much you've transformed!
2. Learning Machine: What awesome things did you learn this year? Write down 3 subjects that made you say "Aha!"
3. Field Trip Flashback: Remember that incredible trip? Draw a picture and write about your favorite field trip of the year. Don't forget to explain why it was the BEST!
4. Pop Culture Picks: What are you into these days? Fill in your favorite movie, TV show, song, and book. You can even draw them or write a short explanation of what makes them so awesome.
5. Future Goals: Looking ahead to next year? List 3 things you want to achieve – maybe learning a new skill, mastering a subject, or trying a new activity!
6. Time Capsule Time!: Design a cool decoration for your time capsule and write a special message to your future self. What would you like to remember most about 3rd grade?

This worksheet will be a treasure trove of memories for kids to discover in the years to come!

How to use this resource:

I make booklets by copying the pages by multiples of 2 on my printer. This is very easy to do.

1. Click print

2. Select the printer and number of copies, then search down midway and click the MULTIPLE bar

3. Select 2 so you get 2 pages per printed copy

4. You can choose to bring double sided or single sided but I prefer single sided for the little ones (you can always take out the page if they make a mistake…harder to do if they also filled out the entire other side…fewer tears for me, the better!)

5. Staple into booklets. I stapled along the binder spirals so they looked more authentic

OR

1. You can print one image per page and make the books bigger

Who can use this resource:

I used this resource with my Grade 1 and 2 students at the end of the year to celebrate our accomplishments and to create a book of our favourite memories. Students loved brainstorming ideas for the various pages. It's amazing what they remember and appreciate from the past ten months of school.

Happy memories, big successes, and all the friends made during our year are worth treasuring. I hope you love filling out all your class memories!

Who can use this resource:

French Immersion teachers in the Kindergarten to Grade Three classroom and those teaching beginner French students. Can be used at the Grade 4-6 level with Core French students learning to segment and blend complex sounds.

What grade level:

I personally use these activities with 1st and 2nd Grade students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from K-3 will find these most useful and teachers can come back to them year after year with their students. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.
