An all original program with Music and Lyrics by Jason Litt, "Black Flyday" is a rollicking and rocking show terrific for your winter chorus musical! Grades 3-6 Plot summary: The day after Thanksgiving “Black Friday”, is typically known as the beginning of the holiday shopping season. Department stores slash prices to mind-boggling low levels as shoppers battle their way through crowds to get items in their hands before many of their fellow shopping compatriots. We follow the story of Shannon, a business magnate who travels for her profession and is compelled to wait in line to purchase the brand new gaming system, The Flexdrive 2000. She plans to present this gift to her two children as she flies home after the Thanksgiving holiday. After unexpectedly waiting in the checkout line longer than she anticipates, she realizes that she missed her flight home – and that’s when the story begins take on a b-plot of its own. Shannon, along with other supporting coworkers, acquaintances, and a South California beach bum, are forced to make choices that will directly impact the holiday shopping season, and more importantly, time spent with their families. Join us in a hip-hop, non-stop adventure through the post- Thanksgiving merchandise frenzy in ”Black Flyday” The musical is 25 minutes in duration and features 6 movements in various musical genres. Looking for a comprehensive Spanish writing program? This ten-week Spanish writing program will have your students writing every day. Each of the ten writing activities in this program includes five pre-writing and writing activities for Monday through Friday. These Spanish writing prompts are a great way both to introduce and to review writing. Provide each student with a "párrafo de la semana" folder and have them add to it every day as you give them daily assignments. At the end of the week have them turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

✍Martes:  Mi folleto de vocabulario - Each student receives a booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used Spanish words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them color it.

✍Miercoles:  Vocabulario - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says ”Palabras de vocabulario útiles: Utilizaré estas palabras en mi párrafo". 

✍Jueves:  Mi borrador - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The borrador page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. 

✍Viernes:  Mi borrador final - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing:  quién - qué - cuándo - dónde - por qué - cómo

✍Martes:  Mi folleto de vocabulario - Each student receives a booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used Spanish words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them color it.

✍Miercoles:  Vocabulario - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says ”Palabras de vocabulario útiles: Utilizaré estas palabras en mi párrafo". 

✍Jueves:  Mi borrador - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The borrador page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. 

✍Viernes:  Mi borrador final - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing:  quién - qué - cuándo - dónde - por qué - cómo

This ten-week French vocabulary program will have your students working on themed vocabulary words every day of the week. These week-long vocabulary programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level, and they will have your students working on the same set of words tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi. Each of the week-long vocabulary themes in this program includes seven activities / exercises for Monday through Friday. Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading, vocabulary, and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete reading and writing programs. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them colour it.

✍Mercredi: ÉCRIRE - Vocabulaire - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.”

✍Jeudi: VOCABULAIRE - Dots & Boxes: Je joue avec un ami; Je cherche mes douze mots cachés de la semaine

✍Jeudi: LIRE - Read paragraph #4 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Jeudi: ÉCRIRE - Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. 

✍Vendredi: VOCABULAIRE - J'écris des phrases avec mes douze mots de la semaine

✍Vendredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #5 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Vendredi: ÉCRIRE - Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing:  qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment

Looking for a fun way to incorporate themed vocabulary into your classroom or homeschool? Use these weekly thematic word work units to introduce new words and practice spelling, handwriting, sentence building, and drawing. This bundle includes the Weekly Thematic Vocabulary units for September - May.

All of the 9 included units contain five weeks of vocabulary work. Each week features a different themed picture or pictures, six vocabulary words to learn, and five days of quick, fun activities using those words. Daily activities are numbered to keep the student on track and are quick enough to be used as morning work or in a literacy center. All units include five weeks of vocabulary work so that in months with four weeks you can choose the themes that best fit your classroom. Also included: black and white versions of all five weeks for easier printing.

This unit is great for a classroom but was developed with homeschoolers in mind. The daily format mimics several homeschool vocabulary programs to make it easy to use alongside older siblings. Pair the themes up with your themed unit studies for added learning! This vocabulary curriculum is geared towards kindergartners or first graders who need some extra vocabulary practice, but can be used by any age that needs to work on handwriting, reading, and sentence building skills.

Each week includes the following:

-Themed Introduction Page - includes a themed picture(s) and the six vocabulary words for the week. Can be laminated for a center to save on ink if using in a classroom!

-Day 1 - match the vocabulary words to their pictures

-Day 2 - trace the vocabulary words

-Day 3 - write the vocabulary words

-Day 4 - finish the sentences with the vocabulary words

-Day 5 Option 1 - copy the sentence and illustrate it

-Day 5 Option 2 - student picks a sentence from Day 4, writes it, and illustrates it
