This is a Geography Asia research or wrap-up assignment that can be used throughout the study of Asia (or modified to fit another topic) in geography, world history, and other social studies classes. I have used this in my class for 7 years and it has been a very successful learning tool. This can easily be modified the assignment to fit various topics. Students and parents love this assignment because it is fun and reflects what students have learned. Students are proud of their work when they finish. The idea of the lesson can be changed to fit studies within other core subjects, such as science. This is a supplemental activity that will enhance students learning within the unit study. The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs by copying and pasting. In the second lesson the children need sort the facts in order before typing four draft paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; before checking their draft paragraphs and typing up their work on to the template provided.

This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers. If you are unsure how to allow the students to have their own individual copy take a look at the instructional video below:

In this lesson, students learn interesting facts about the 19th Century Medical Revolution as they complete several projects including a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic.    A complete answer key is provided for the WebQuest for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students.  The student questions are included in both a print version and a digital (editable) version to make it easy for students to complete the lesson digitally or on paper.  Also included with this lesson is a word search puzzle that includes an answer key, perfect for early finishers or as a part of the lesson.  Finally, students create a timeline of events using the free Web 2.0 tool, Tiki-Toki (www.tiki-toki.com). 

This lesson is intended to be an introduction to the topic and was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used in high school as well.  This is also a great lesson to leave for a substitute teacher!

Firstly, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of World War 2. There are 42 posters or cards that include many of the key events from the Second World War.

Secondly, there is a close reading activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.

Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about World War II.

Firstly, there are 23 close reading activities, or informational texts, about Ancient Rome, Augustus, Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, Constantine, Spartacus, Hannibal, Cleopatra, Tutankhamun, Ancient Egypt, Ramesses III, Thutmose II, Ancient Greece, Socrates, Aristotle, Aesop, Homer, Alexander the Great, Ancient Mesopotamia, Advancements in Mesopotamia, Sargon the Great, Hammurabi's Code and the Epic of Gilgamesh.

These activities are online resources, that use Google Forms, and are linked to your Google Drive. They can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers, and are easily assessed by teachers as all the answers are provided in a quick and easy format.

Secondly, there are four great Digital Research and Sorting Activities about Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Ancient Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. These are perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of the civilisations, and are great for class work, distance learning or home schooling.

There is always some prep for the lessons, but most everything is done for you: printable (not worksheets; they are printable the students use to interact ), introduction, list of materials needed, objectives, process, closure, etc.

Once you open the zip file, you will see all the lessons. Some are PDFs and others are zip files that you must open up to obtain all the parts to the lesson. i.e Push and Pull Factors is a zip file. Once opened, you will be able to access the Powerpoint, Pdf Lesson, etc. This is a very larger file, so it make take some time to download.
