Lesson Overview

Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This seasonal bundle lets students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) as they create pixel art using the program. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! This bundle includes the full lesson for each season: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. These are each sold separately too, if you prefer. These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.

I've used this with 7th and 8th graders who used their free time to create even more art! I hope your students have as much fun as mine did learning Excel or Google Sheets!

Make learning the letters fun by using cotton swabs or fingers to create these dot painting alphabet pictures. Students can work those hand muscles and build their fine motor skills while practicing letter recognition and beginning sounds with these low mess alphabet dot marker pages!

What is included:

• 2-4 beginning sound dotting page for each letter
• 1 capital letter dotting page for each letter
• 1 lowercase letter dotting page for each letter
• 1 capital and lowercase letter dotting page for each letter
• 2 create your own letter dotting page for each letter

Students have an opportunity to get creative while completing these dot painting pages. They can choose their colors, patterns and designs they wish to use to complete their painting. Each student's finished product will be different, making these a great display activity for the classroom door, bulletin board or hallway.

The dot painting pages by themselves are no prep, print and go. The teacher needs to add different color paint and cotton swabs for students to complete each dot painting page. The activity is easy to set up and provides a low mess way to complete the art activity.

Four individual Escape Room activities about the following famous artists from history:

Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new art topic, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies.

Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 of each activity students will read an informational text and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
