Students will use clues provided on a timeline to determine which Ancient Egyptian Era is being described. Teachers could choose to allow students to use references to help complete the timeline.

This is a great review activity that would be best completed with a partner or small group. Students need to practice how to make inferences and this is a great way to do that.

Students can complete the timeline as a cut and paste activity or a digital Google Slide activity. Follow up questions increase rigor and help students make connections.

This resource is a 5th grade and 6th grade informational text writing unit about Ancient Egypt. The unit focuses on key facts about the civilisation, and has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in 5th grade or 6th grade learning about World History or Ancient History.

The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs and write an introduction. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.

A great digital research and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of Ancient Greece. Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. There are 33 posters or task cards that include many of the key events and periods from the first settlers in Greece to the end of the empire.

The research and sorting activity is differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline.
