Dot Painting – A Fine Motor Activity

Fine motor skill is the coordination of small muscles, in movements – usually involving the synchronization of hands and fingers – with eyes.

Q-tip Painting Activities are made with fine motor development in mind (helps develop a good pencil grip).

This creative Monumental Symmetrical Insects Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing insects. Next, I taught students how to draw insects symmetrically on scrap paper. I demonstrated how to draw a beetle symmetrically while students surrounding me. Students created their own symmetrical insect drawing on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined, colored, and cut their Monumental Symmetrical Insect out. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

This creative Dragons & Castles Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm a dragons & castle drawing inside their sketchbook. Foreground, middle ground, and background were emphasized throughout the 4–5-day unit. I asked students to lightly redraw the composition onto watercolor paper. I asked students to paint the larger areas first and paint the dragon and details last. I hope you and your kiddos love this! This creative Stained-Glass Tree Painting Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing different trees. Next, I taught students how to draw a tree that has branches extending to the edge of the paper. I demonstrated how to outline and fill in the tree. Students created their own stained-glass tree artwork on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Students used mostly watercolor paints for their artwork. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to draw a creative Aztec Sun & Moon Design. Students would start with a large circle and split the circle near the middle to separate the sun and moon. Students can create almost any look for their overall design-keep it unique! This project aims to help your child/students practice their research skills. They will pick one of the "realms" or regions based on the realms represented in the Nutcracker Ballet (when visiting after Marie/Clara rescues the Nutcracker/Prince). Children/students can practice following instructions and requirements by following the assignment's instructions. Two options are available to complete the report. 1. Predesigned Research Page or 2. Written Research Report (with introduction and conclusion). An optional presentation extension is available for students to create a project based on architecture, dress, or food research done on their report.
