Veteran's Day Coloring Thank You Cards Military Appreciation Fun Low Prep Craft

By Eden Digital Arts

Print and go low prep Veteran's day craft eight print and color Thank you cards to show appreciation to veterans. The cards are blank inside for you to write a personalized message.

Coloring the cards yourself are special for several reasons:

1. Coloring thank you cards allow the sender to add a personal touch, Taking the time to color a thank you card shows that the sender put thought and effort into expressing their gratitude. It demonstrates that the recipient's kindness or gesture was meaningful enough to warrant a personalized response.

2. Coloring thank you cards allows for creativity to shine. Whether it's using various colors, adding drawings, or writing special messages, the sender can unleash their artistic side, making the card a unique keepsake for the recipient.

3. Hand-colored cards stand out from the usual mass-produced thank you cards. The recipient is more likely to remember and cherish a one-of-a-kind card that was crafted with care and attention.

4. Lasting memory: A hand-colored thank you card is more likely to be kept as a keepsake by the recipient. It serves as a beautiful reminder of the sender's gratitude and the positive interaction they shared.

Overall, coloring thank you cards go beyond a simple message of thanks; they convey care, creativity, and appreciation in a way that is meaningful and memorable.

1 PDF with 9 US-letter size pages 8.5" by 11"

Exploring Careers: Arts, A/V Technology & Communications | Distance Learning

By Innovations in Technology

This career unit gives students an introduction to the Arts, A/V Technology & Communications career cluster and what a career in this field would be like. This is perfect for a career, technology, CTE or business class.

The included PowerPoint presentation can be used by the teacher for whole class instruction, or provided to the students electronically (or as a printout) for them to review individually. Students use close reading skills with a short informational passage to learn about the career field and answer questions to use critical thinking skills and demonstrate their understanding. Two different puzzles are included to learn different jobs in the career and to reinforce vocabulary skills. A technology based research project is included to allow students to use critical thinking and creativity to further explore the career field as they create a video using Adobe Spark Video (free software, no download needed). Suggested topics for the video are included as well as a quick reference guide for the software. Additionally, a group fashion design project that can be completed without student computer access is provided to simulate the career and allow students to utilize critical thinking skills and teamwork. Finally, a short reflection questionnaire gives students the opportunity to reflect and analyze their learning as they determine if this career field is of interest to them.

The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be used with high school students. The teacher can choose to use some or all of the provided lesson options included in this resource.

Frida Kahlo Escape Room Activity

By Creative Primary Literacy

A Frida Kahlo Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work, starting a new art topic, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills, in Art or in Social Studies.

The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

Included in this resource:

  • Student guidelines for completing the tasks meaning no teacher prep
  • A student answer key to complete as they work through the tasks
  • An informational text or reading comprehension passage
  • A true or false fact sheet & maze
  • A crossword puzzle
  • A timeline activity & answer key
  • A wordsearch puzzle
  • Teacher answer sheets for each task

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Frida Kahlo and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 task cards about famous artists before putting them in order from the earliest born to the most recently born. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.
