A St. Patrick's Day Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the activity is perfect for group work; a great holiday activity; team-building activities; or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Saint Patrick's Day and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.

In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.

In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards about important holidays or festivals celebrated in the United States and around the world. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.

In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.

Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

This resource is 21 editable morning work slides for the month of March that are St. Patrick's Day themed with animated features, moving backgrounds, as well as a riddle, joke or trivia question already attached to each day. (Answer keys are included on the last two slides when purchased).

This resource is a great way to start your students mornings in a positive way with the fun, engaging jokes/riddles/trivia as well as the cute slides are a great way to let your students know what the expectations of the morning is.

Do your students need Morning Meeting ideas? Using different Morning Meeting ideas can lead to tremendous growth academically and socially. The fun Morning Meeting questions can be utilized along with your greeting and other activities.  The spring Morning Meeting questions should be used during the month of March with your students but could be used during other months too. 

There are Mardi Gras questions, St. Patrick Days questions, Women's History questions, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing questions to celebrate the different holidays in March. All of the questions are on Google Slides that can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the next Google Slide each morning for that day. There are 20 EDITABLE and DIVERSE slides just for the month of March! 

Students will create connections and develop deep discussions with the questions.  Therefore, the skills they are learning during Morning Meeting will lead to connections within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading. 

Additionally, the March Question of The Day will create deep relationships between you and your students! If you have my other Morning Meeting Slides than you understand how powerful these questions can be!  

This is also an excellent resource to use with your remote learners or to assign to your students’ laptops. You could assign one or more slides to their learning management system for morning meetings and writing or reading activities.
