The areas that are reviewed on the rubric are as follows: the topic and meaning/purpose relate, what's included in the play - characters, props, scenes, stage, directions, dialogue, and scenes, staying on task, grammar/punctuation/spelling, and working with others. This guided descriptive essay asks students to describe a nutcracker. There are three separate options to use based on the level and ability of your students.

Option 1: A full five-paragraph essay with three body paragraphs and an introduction and conclusion are required. This includes a planning page, a student requirement page, and a rubric.
