I use interactive notebooks in my classroom, this is a flipbook that can be glued or into a composition notebook. The flip book syllabus will also fit in a larger spiral notebook, as well. There are MANY different ways to play this game, but here are a couple ways that worked for me and my students:

OPTION 1 - Full Team Mode

• Students are put on teams and work together AS A TEAM to come up with their answers, as well as “Connect 4” boxes.
• This option works best if you want them to work together for the entire game.

OPTION 2 - Partial Team Mode

• Students are put on teams, but work INDEPENDENTLY to come up with their answers. However, they will still “Connect 4” boxes as a team.
• This sounds tricky, but it actually worked much better for my students. They weren’t waiting on everyone in their group to write answers, or trying to figure out who was getting it checked, who was writing the X on the board, where should they put the X, etc.
• They are working independently on the questions, but building off of each other’s X placement to strategize on how to get their team to win. Therefore, it is still a “team effort.”
