It delves into the critical analysis of media influence on food choices, addressing key curriculum strands such as:
Lesson Highlights:
Lesson One introduces students to the importance of balanced nutrition and the five food groups. The reading section provides an overview of the role different nutrients play in maintaining good health, encouraging students to reflect on their own food choices.
Lesson Two focuses on food labels, teaching students how to read and interpret them to make informed decisions. The reading section covers information found on food labels, including serving size, ingredients, and nutritional value, fostering critical thinking about daily food choices.
Lesson Three addresses the influence of media on our food choices, including social media, advertising, and social norms. Students learn strategies to be more mindful of these messages and develop healthy strategies to resist negative influences.

The files are not designed to be printed (although they could be) but rather to be displayed in the classroom for groups to reference at vertical surfaces.
