Recognizing patterns in math is essential to building number sense and fluency with basic math facts. Understanding what happens when we add and subtract one or two from a number assists children with building fact fluency.
This resource will allow students to visualize this skill with guided practice moving toward fluency of addition and subtraction facts.

Guess the Hidden Number! Skip Counting (Missing Number Practice; Counting by 10)

This PowerPoint includes 46 slides and 4 activities for students to complete as a group or individually on a computer or iPad. Students will practice counting objects (eyes, ears, shoes, parts of a mustache and twins) by twos to 20. They will practice finding the multiples of two within numbers 1-20 and finding the missing number when counting by twos to 20. Finally, students will practice their missing number fluency by quickly identifying what number is missing in a group of three. This is a great way to introduce skip counting, even numbers or multiplication as repeated addition.
