They will count forward from a given number of cents. Students will have to count forward by ones, twos, fives, tens, or quarters, depending on the value of every coin.

Exercise 4: Counting backward the value of the coins

The same as the one above, but this time counting backward.

Exercise 5: Calculating Coin Values

Students will Calculate the value, in cents, for each set of coins and use the cent symbol.

Exercise 6: Drawing Equivalent Sets of Coins

They will draw 3 different sets of coins that are equivalent to a given number of cents.

Exercise 7: Fill in the Cross (+1¢, -1¢, +10¢, -10¢)

Students will work on nine cross-shaped grids, each with a provided number of cents in the center. Their task is to complete the four fields of the crosses using mathematical operations: add 1¢, subtract 1¢, add 10¢, and subtract 10¢ relative to the central numbers. This exercise enhances their understanding of number relationships and basic arithmetic.

What is a lapbook?

A lapbook is a book made from a file folder that includes various information about a topic. Students can create a lap book by cutting, coloring (when needed), and gluing them inside a file folder. The finished file folder book is called a lapbook because the book is usually big enough to spread out on your lap to read.

Lapbooks do not come with specific assembly instructions. Students are to use the information to build their books creatively and uniquely! This is a fun way for students to learn and get hands-on with the information!

All of the hard work is done for you. Just print the pieces, give each student one file folder, and let your students get creative!

The 24 cards are provided in 2 sets of 12 with each set having a different color border for recording sake. Students circle which set they are using on the recording sheet. The recording page allows for the student to fill in the unit of measure they are working with, unifix cubes, cm. cubes, beans, paperclips, inches, centimeters, etc... so it is very open ended to suit the needs of your curriculum and students abilities. This set has 24 colorful BACK TO SCHOOL THEMED measurement cards (on 14 pages). Each card is labeled "A, B, C, etc.." and a recording page is given to match.

The 24 cards are provided in 2 sets of 12 with each set having a different color border for recording sake. Students circle which set they are using on the recording sheet.

The recording page allows for the student to fill in the unit of measure they are working with, unifix cubes, cm. cubes, beans, paperclips, inches, centimeters, etc... so it is very open ended to suit the needs of your curriculum and students abilities.

You can print the recording sheet double sided (early finishers) and ask them to measure using 2 different units of measure (I was 1st grade so it was nonstandard measurement).

FALL WOODLAND ANIMALS NonStandard Measurement Center is a double set of Measurement Center Cards with a WOODLAND ANIMALS Theme. Your students will get plenty of practice measuring length. Cards can be used with nonstandard measurement, standard measurement, customary measurement and metric measurement. This set is great for Math Centers, Math Stations, & Small Group Instruction. Cut out & laminate cards, place in math station with a set of recording sheets. I like to run worksheet 2 sided and ask students to measure with 2 different units of measure, such as cubes and beans, or inches and centimeters.
