BOOMWHACKER Primary Pack - 3 elementary-aged resources @ 20% off
By Jason Litt
Ready to start your kids on boomwhackers (or would like an end of the year review?)
Here in this primary pack geared towards your younger students, you will get 3 great resources at 20% when purchased here all together!
Boom and Response (Call and Response for Boomwhackers!)
In this resource, there are 3 tracks totally 5 minutes that you can play for your students (and repeat if necessary). Each track is a specific amount of beats for the "Call" (4 beats, 6 beats, or 8 beats) with the same amount of empty beats that follow directly after -- and thats where you students submit their "Response"
BoomBox (25 sight reading patterns for BEGINNING Boomwhackers!)
Students will see a series of 8 to 12 boxes with corresponding boomwhacker colors filled in each box. When played, the teacher will count off the students to read down the Boomwhacker boxes from left to right, line by line.
Boom in a FLASH! (Boomwhackers against the clock!)
Students will see one Boomwhacker color appear on the screen (PowerPoint presentation). The student who is holding that Boomwhacker must play the note (on the ground, hand, elbow, desk, whatever have you!), and then they automatically advance to the next slide... to another color!
Keep it going, keep reading because... they're being timed! They will have 30 seconds to amass as many notes as they can (timer included) before the time runs out and they look at their high score (which is kept below).
Enjoy these and let us know how it goes with your kids!

Band and Orchestra Instrument Samples
By Jason Litt
When it comes time to discuss timbre, instrument families, ranges, and the alike, you need instant samples of instruments. I used to do it the old way -- finding a specific piece of music, cueing it up in the CD player or mp3, and implement it in my lesson. It took a lot of time and extra preparation on my part to find those clips and segment them for my class... Here's the solution -- Band and Orchestra Instrument Samples. Included are 25 REAL sampled instruments, all the way from the Piccolo down to the Marimba. Each sample is a little different and includes: - 10-20 seconds of each instrument sample - stylistic features (articulations included) - a good representation of range of the instrument - authentic sounds - various tempi In addition to individual instruments, you receive a woodwind, brass, and string section example, along with a string section pizzicato section as well Consider this your one stop shop for instrument examples! If you have any questions about any instruments, please feel free to comment or contact me at jasonlitt@gmail.com Thank you and enjoy!

Excited SEL Listening | Uplifting Classical Music to Inspire Students!
By Agee and Row Classical Music Appreciation
Part of the new "Emotions in Music" series! What makes music sound "exciting?" Is it the tempo? Instruments? Ten (very upbeat!) classical pieces are included for your group to study. Feelings & observations will vary in this activity - great for class discussions!
Music Appreciation Made Easy!
Do you need engaging print-and-go activities and brain breaks? The music featured in this activity packet is carefully curated and previewed - saving you hours of planning time. Just print and cue the music! The selections are available on YouTube or your favorite streaming service. There are no wrong answers, and no musical training is required, so add a few to your sub plans, too!
Learning Objectives
Social-Emotional Learning
Listening to classical music has been shown to help with self-awareness, empathy, and self-regulation. Since social-emotional learning is essential for children, incorporating classical music into your classroom or homeschool is a great way to support their development.
Talk about the emotions evoked by the selected music. What does the music make them feel? Happy? Sad? Anxious? Peaceful? Help students identify and label their emotions. Ask open-ended questions about the music and encourage students to share their thoughts and feelings.
Discuss the different instruments used in the piece of music. What does each instrument contribute to the overall sound? Encourage students to make up a story based on the music. What is happening in the story? Who are the characters? Where does it take place?
While listening, students can draw a picture or scene that comes to mind. What colors are used? What shapes? Why?
Excited Listening Sheets
What's Included
Listening Sheet - There are no wrong answers! Students can note how they feel and what they imagine while listening to a selected piece of music. Choose from musical instruments, nature scenes, colors, and more.
Weather & Feelings - Weather is a recurring theme in classical music. Does a musical piece remind the listener of a snowy day or a cheerful sunny afternoon? Students can select the weather symbols that come to mind. Is the music happy or sad? A set of emotional characters allows your group to pick the feelings that best relate to a piece of music.
Carnival Coloring - Which carnival rides and activities would best fit a piece of music? Does the tempo feel like a roller coaster or a peaceful swing ride in the sky? Choose a tasty treat from the snack bar, then stop at the prize booth before finishing. There are no wrong answers!
Listen and Color - While listening, students color the scene and choose the keywords/elements that resonate with their listening experience. There is lots of room for drawing, coloring, and journaling in the box! Students often engage in discussions about what they've heard or felt. Great for displaying!
By Creating Musical Literature
