In this product that relates with ignoring others, students learn why they should ignore someone if they are not nice to them, how you may feel if someone isn't nice to you, and discuss how you would feel if someone wasn't nice and they weren't ignored, how you could help your friend feel better if they were trying to ignore someone, and what you can do when someone isn't nice.
The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. In this product that relates with feeling grumpy students will discuss 10 questions that relate with feeling grumpy, irritated, miserable, and crabby, and how you may feel when you are grumpy, when you can feel grumpy and why, how your friends/family may feel when you are grumpy, what helps you feel better when you are grumpy, etc. Students can discuss these questions and share their responses with a partner, in a group, or with the class.

Someone Said! - Discussion & Reflection Cards - Empathy Lesson Social Awareness

There are a total of 72 “Someone Said” Cards which all include a variety of statements for students to discuss and reflect upon. These statements elicit a number of emotions in which the student is encouraged to identify and record. This is a great exercise to also explore con-current emotions where two or more emotions exist together and not in isolation to each other. This is a fundamental skill for emotional literacy and development. These are great cards to explore social awareness, emotional literacy, empathy, compassion and understanding.
The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to the feelings and emotions from the scenarios.
Each card includes visual representations of emotions and feelings to support discussion and reflection.
