Let your students know you care and put a smile on their faces!

Sometimes, we as teachers are the only ones in their lives to "make it a great day" and are the only ones that can make these special occasions special to them. Your students will love these geography-themed Valentine's Day cards and laugh at the play on words using country names. Your students will have a blast figuring out what each Valentine's card means and sharing them with their classmates.

How to Print:

• Print off Valentine's cards on cardstock and cut out
• If printed and cut correctly, fit A2 4.3/8 x 5.3/4 envelopes (if you choose to use envelopes)
• If you wish to or your school district allows, glue or tape a wrapped candy to the card.
• Do not forget those students who have allergies or eat differently and are dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, or GMO-free. "Enjoy Life" brand candy, cookies, and treats meet all these requirements.

The graphic novel, Queen Bee written by Chynna Clugston is entertaining and suspenseful. This book encourages my on-level as well as struggling readers to want to read. Students will like this book at the upper elementary, middle school and high school level, because the main characters not only have the ability to show the reader their super powers, but students can also relate to the main characters as they navigate school and developing friendships as well. Upon reading each chapter, students can answer the comprehension questions with help or independently. When students are finished reading this book, they can answer the questions about their favorite character, the plot, setting, etc. as well.

This 90-minute lesson introduces students to World Red Cross Day, celebrated every year on May 8th. Using the educational video World Red Cross Day, students explore the history, principles, and global impact of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The lesson begins with a warm-up discussion to activate prior knowledge, followed by two viewings of the video to support comprehension. Students then engage with a printable worksheet featuring vocabulary activities, comprehension questions, critical thinking prompts, and a creative drawing task where they design a badge or slogan based on Red Cross values. Through collaborative pair work and whole-class discussion, students deepen their understanding of core humanitarian principles such as neutrality, impartiality, and voluntary service.
