Kaboom! Game

• print out and cut up the task cards and Kaboom! cards, laminate (optional)
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and filling the missing word
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card X if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back, feel free to use as many (or as few) Kaboom! card as you wish
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Scoot Game

• each student gets a recording sheet
• place one card on each student's desk. use as many cards as you wish.
• plan a route, make sure your students understand which way they are supposed to move
• start the game by having each pupil write the answer to their card on their answer sheet
• when students are finished, call out "SCOOT" and they move to their neighbour's desk where they write the answer to the card on that desk
• call out "SCOOT" again, students move again, continue until students have answered all the cards
• answer sheets can be corrected with the whole group, in pairs or collected for a later correction

Connect 3 Sides Game

• students play in pairs, each pair gets a triangle game board and a pack of 28 task cards
• tip! - make the cards self-checking by writing the correct answer on the other side
• students win fields by answering correctly - the first player to connect all 3 sides of the triangle is the winner

This Job Skills Work Skills simulation will get your students ready to shop or work in a department store. Job & Life Skills are an important part of a students Transition plan, CBI or Work program. Students need to know which department to go when they are looking for specific items. Department Store Tools Level 2 is a fun way to improve the life and work skills for all students and prepare them for real-word shopping or working in a department store!

Department Store Skills Level 2 simulates job and work skills by providing direct direct instruction in familiarizing students with common items found in a department store. There are a total of 30 CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) based Growth and Fixed Mindset Scenario Cards which all include a variety of relatable and realistic scenarios for students to discuss and reflect upon. These scenarios explore a number of realistic situations in which the student is encouraged to explore whether the situation illustrates a growth or fixed mindset.

There are 15 scenarios which illustrate a fixed mindset and 15 scenarios which illustrate a growth mindset.

This is a great exercise to also explore and reinforce the importance of a growth mindset.
