Looking for a Halloween-themed, engaging and informative reading comprehension activity? This scavenger hunt is designed to help students practice skim reading, looking for context clues, and learn some useful vocabulary.

It’s perfect for EFL / ESL students at the B1/B2 level and can also be used for native English classes at grade levels 5th - 7th. With low prep, just print and hang, it contains 10 reading passages connected with Bram Stoker’s book Dracula.

The scavenger hunt is designed so that students have to revisit and reread the reading passages multiple times when looking for code words. Why teach word meaning through nonsense words (context clues only)?

• Students must use critical thinking to solve
• Students must read the whole passage for context clues

These science vocabulary tiles are a fun way for students to manipulate content and show off their learning!

Set of tiles comes with a mixture of 189 vocabulary and other words for students to build their own mitosis "poetry." A blank set for you or students to add more words as needed is also included.

This lesson has everything you need to teach a "Thin Slicing" lesson on solving single variable linear equations (8.EE.7b) for 8th grade using the Building Thinking Classrooms strategies for teaching math created by Peter Liljedahl. Once complete, students can use the provided notes template to record their thinking, as well as a "Check Your Understanding" exit ticket to give you and your students formative assessment feedback on how they are understanding the topic.

Level 1 utilized errorless learning for students who need maximum support. In level 2, students are presented with a picture of a recycling item to sort and will choose the correct recycling bin out of 3 choices.
