AP Spanish Don Quijote 2 Group Projects End of Year Fun
By Specialty Spanish
It's the end of the year.... how can you keep Spanish students motivated? Don Quijote provides humor and satire, along with choice with 2 project options! These don Quijote projects will allow students to learn culture, do some writing, and maybe even entertain the class! Take advantage of the prom season by offering a project in which students write and perform a skit about don Quijote going to the prom! Or, have students write the "lost chapter" of the don Quijote saga. Both of these activities require creativity and fun!
*In my AP® class, we always do a don Quijote reader after the AP Test®. This is a great way to keep students on track by having them work collaboratively and producing a high quality project for a grade. Included in this product is a daily log for students and teachers to refer to in order to be sure that class time is used wisely. And all Google products are yours to modify and edit as you see fit for your students!

Digital Escape Game for Spanish May 5 Cinco de Mayo
By Frenchified
Make learning about Cinco de Mayo interesting with this no-prep digital escape game. The game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks. Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game. Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work! Students can play individually or in teams.
Cinco de Mayo is almost here! Your friend from Puebla has sent you some candies from Mexico, but in order to open the box and retrieve them, you will have to figure out the codes that open the locks by learning about Cinco de Mayo and the traditions surrounding it. This is a challenging activity that students will need to work together and think critically in order to complete. Some readings are in English while others are in Spanish.
Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit. They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event. This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.
This item includes:
Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning! The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused!
Topics in this game include:
Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students. You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district. As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones. With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

AP Spanish El calentamiento global Article with questions and Goformative
By Specialty Spanish
The Global Challenges unit of AP Spanish® has many interesting contexts, including the environment. This digital and printable article talks about the effects of global warming in Antarctica, and explains the paradox of how rising temperatures actually cause more snow! Distance learners can complete this via a Google Doc or by doing the auto-graded goformative version. Students who prefer paper copies can have a print-out! Save time searching the net to find a good article, and save more time by letting goformative grade this for you! Another benefit to the goformative version is that students can see the article side by side with the questions, and the questions are embedded just where they can find the answer! It's a great scaffold for students still developing their reading comprehension skills!
This article is good for students who are ready for a challenge and/or who like science. It's a little longer than the other article I posted for this unit, but the embedded questions make this accessible for students!

AP Spanish Immigration Interview
By Specialty Spanish
Are your AP Spanish® students interested in immigration? Unit 6 is a perfect place to introduce this topic. It’s controversial, for sure. But here is a chance for students to look at immigration in a humanized way with this interview assignment. Students will speak to an immigrant to their country and find out about a personal experience. Social and Political challenges can be hard to talk about. Humanize the issue for students to make it easier to come to a place of respect and understanding!
Students will conduct an interview with an immigrant to their country. They will write up their interview as a newspaper-style article, and add their personal conclusions. The student instructions give lots of structure and guidance to ensure an excellent finished product and a deeper understanding of why people emigrate.
