French Valentine’s Day digital escape room
By Frenchified
Make learning about French celebrations of Valentine’s Day interesting with this no-prep digital escape game. The game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks. Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game. Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work! Students can play individually or in teams. Includes a mixture of French and English - suitable for 2nd year and later.
Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit. They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event. This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.
This item includes:
Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning! The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused!
Topics in this game include:
♥ history of Valentine’s Day
♥ chocolates
♥ the language of flowers
♥ terms of affection in French
♥ the ‘love locks’ bridge
Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students. You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district. As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones. With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

French Getting to Know You BINGO!
By Churros and Croissants
This BINGO card is a great ice breaker for the first days of French class! Each student receives a card and then moves around the classroom meeting new people and asking questions in English to get to know them better. When they find someone who can say "Oui" to a box, they will cross it off and write that person's name on it. The first person to get a BINGO reads their card out loud so the class can get to know their new friends as well!
This activity is designed for students with no previous French knowledge (MS French, Intro to Languages, Foundations of French, and French I), but my returning French 2 students loved it as well.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!
12 games are included with 48 different categories! You can either print out the game sheets or project them to save paper and ink. For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

French Calendar and Time Scattergories Game - Le Calendrier et l'heure
Why Learn Another Language Scavenger Hunt Game for Spanish, French, Italian
By Specialty Spanish
Need a fun way to start the year in World Language class? How about a team-building game! This reading about why students should learn another language goes from dull to exciting as students work together and move around the room to solve a mystery! This is a simple “print and go” with no work for the teacher! This is a great way to get the year started with new students, or to provide motivation when you see interest and effort waning. This activity is in English, and can be used by any World Language class!
All World Language teachers want to motivate and encourage our students, and help them see the value of becoming proficient in the language they’re studying. This story gives 10 teen-friendly reasons why it’s so beneficial to prioritize learning a new language!
The story revolves around two teens trying to decide what classes to take. Your students play the role of the mystery solvers. They have to read all 10 parts of the story to figure out the answer to the final question; what will the students grow up to be in their career? While your students read the story parts, they are looking for “code words” in the story. Students record the code words on a special answer sheet that will eventually lead them to solving the mystery of teens’ future career. It’s so much fun!
After, you can decide which of the 4 follow-up activities you want to do with your students. There are 4; a True or False Activity to check for basic comprehension, a “tell me in your own words” summary activity, an opportunity to work with a group and write a story about a adventure the teens will have in their career (which can be done in the TL), and an activity where they can explore possible careers for bilingual people. Answer key to the True/False is also included. Best of all? If there’s something you’d like to change for your students, you are free to edit!

French Clothing Vocabulary Writing and Speaking Activities Packet - VÊTEMENTS
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
Are you looking for engaging ways to teach French clothing vocabulary? This French vocabulary packet will have your students reading, writing, listening and speaking! 15 different activities including games, writing, and speaking activities are included. Check out the preview for ALL of the details on what's included in this engaging French Clothing - Les Vêtements unit. This packet is perfect for beginning students!
22 pages of worksheets and 48 speaking prompt cards are included.
48 words are included in this French clothing vocabulary packet. 4 pages are dedicated to identifying words students know and don’t know, and deciding which clothes and accessories they like and don’t like (see list of words in the preview).
On the first page, all of the words are listed. Students simply check off the words on the list that they recognize.
On the second page, students identify the words they don’t know and translate them.
On the third page, students check off things and activities that they like.
On the fourth page, students check off things and activities that they don’t like.
14 games are included for maximum exposure to all 48 words on the list. Students will master all of the words before beginning the writing and speaking activities included in this packet.
Two all French Dots & Boxes games are included. Each player draws lines using a different color while speaking the words on either side of the lines they draw. When they complete a box, they draw an X in the box using their color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who has the most!
Two Dots & Boxes games in English to be used for translating to French. Each player draws lines using a different color while translating the words on either side of the lines they draw.
Two Tic-Tac-Toe worksheets to encourage mastering all 48 words on the list. Students already know how to play this game, so you won’t need to do much explaining. Choose a square, read the word aloud, write an X or an O on the square. The first player to get three in a row wins that round! Each worksheet includes four Tic-Tac-Toe vocabulary games.
Two Ceci ou Cela games are included in this vocabulary packet. Each numbered row offers three choices. Students read the three choices aloud and say the one that they prefer. At the bottom of the page it says “Je préfère _____ parce que...” This is an opportunity for students to give reasons for their preferences in French!
Six different Bataille Navale games will have your students speaking in complete sentences in French using the target vocabulary with “J’aime” or “Je n’aime pas” as starters. This is an excellent way to prep for the upcoming writing and speaking activities!
4 writing activities following the “J’aime” or “Je n’aime pas” theme, and 48 speaking prompt cards are included.
One writing worksheet asks students to choose five things they like and to write two reasons why they like them. “PARCE QUE” and “CAR” are both used in each sentence so that students will get used to the idea that they are interchangeable.
One writing worksheet asks students to choose five things they don’t like and to write two reasons why they don’t like them. Once again, “PARCE QUE” and “CAR” are both used in each sentence.
One paragraph writing worksheet asks students to identify four things they don’t like and to write a full paragraph about why they don’t like them. A self-evaluation checklist is included at the bottom of the page to encourage proof-reading and to make sure students include all four of their choices, adjectives, adverbs, and articles.
The second paragraph writing worksheet asks students to identify four things they do like and to write a full paragraph about why they like them. The same self-evaluation checklist is included at the bottom of the page, as well as one to make sure they’ve included all of the essential elements.
Each of the 48 speaking prompt cards includes a different word from the list of target vocabulary in this packet. There are four cards on each page. Just print them and cut them out. Laminate them if possible for years of no-prep activities! The “J’aime” ou “Je n’aime pas” theme is repeated as well as using “parce que” and “car” interchangeably.

Les Loisirs - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity
The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions. This version of the game focuses on 52 nouns and verbs which are all about the les loisirs / hobbies / pastimes.
This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version!
Included:
1 version with vocabulary written in French and English
1 version with vocabulary written in French only
Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity.
This game includes 52 words. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they've played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. You could also photocopy a two sided version, one with English and French and the other with French only.
One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word.
The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT
Alternative game play:
To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

French digital game - direct and indirect object pronouns
By Frenchified
This no-prep, self-grading French digital game will allow your students to practice the indirect or direct object pronouns le, la, les, l', lui and leur. Each sentence has a direct object, indirect object or both - which must be replaced in the second version of the sentence. If they choose correctly, they continue along the path. But an incorrect answer will send them back to redo that section!
Includes a Google drive, PowerPoint and PDF version of the game. Share with students as an individual assignment or work through the activity as a class on a smartboard.
