Do you teach a foreign language to your students? This packet contains two center activities that help teach colors in English, Spanish and French! It is differentiated so that students who need more help can use the colored word cards and those who are more advanced can use the black and white cards. The first center activity, the students match the color name to the color splat on the color mats. There are color mats available in English, Spanish and French with word cards available with each color. Use Velcro on the word cards and the blank spaces to allow the word cards to stay in place. The second center activity is a matching/memory game where students pair the colored splat card with the correct color word. This center is also available in English, Spanish and French. Avoir Expressions - Le jeu des 7 familles - French Card Game

Le jeu des sept familles - This classic card game is fun for students of all ages! Looking for easy prep literacy activities for independent work during differentiated reading instruction? This version of the game is for practicing AVOIR EXPRESSIONS and PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATIONS.

Each of the 7 "families of cards" begins with one of the following, and conjugations in the present tense are used in the JE - TU - IL - NOUS - VOUS - ILS forms. 7 different avoir expressions are used:

• J'ai + expression
• Je n'ai pas + expression
• Est-ce que j'ai + expression

42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or card stock

This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize verb conjugations. It will have your students speaking to each other in French the whole time! They will make affirmative and negative statements and will use EST-CE QUE to form simple questions.

One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the "pioche". One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He or she might say, "Est-ce que tu as froid?"

The goal is to come up with complete families. The different verbs represent the families. There are 6 cards to a family (JE - TU - IL - NOUS- VOUS - ILS). Students will find it helpful to group together the cards that have the same picture at the top (flower, flip-flops, etc.) If the player doesn't have it, he says "pioche". If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

French Dots and Boxes Game - FAIRE - PRESENT TENSE - No prep printable

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure and pronunciation for the target vocabulary and grammar when teaching present tense FAIRE with and without negation. This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your component. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the verbs on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.
