Middle School French Games

You and your class have worked hard all year, now it's time to practice before the final exam! This creative French Board Game Project should take about a week of class time and will review Grammar, Vocabulary, and Culture from each Unit/Chapter you covered this year... and it's fun! You've already done your job. It's time for the students to review on their own!

The vocabulary used on the cards is French numbers from zero to thirty nine, not in numerical order. This game includes a pdf file with 40 cards as well as directions, an answer key, and a student answer sheet. My students love playing this game, especially when I time them. They love trying to beat their times.

French Dots and Boxes Game - VENDRE - PRESENT TENSE - No prep printable

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure and pronunciation for the target vocabulary and grammar when teaching present tense VENDRE with and without negation. This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your component. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the verbs on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most. Desert Island Explorer is an engaging, two-week game-based sub unit designed for grades 5 to 9, offering an immersive and bilingual experience centered around the theme of desert islands. This project-based learning module combines elements of language arts, science, and teamwork to enhance students' critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative skills.

• Lessons are provided in English, and all activities within are French and English.
• These products work in English or French classrooms.

Nothing is more stressful than having to leave work for an extended time: our profession requires us to plan, to create engaging resources, and to assume the subs covering have French capabilities. My Grades 5 & 6 Core Kids are low - this product could work for your kids anywhere from Grades 4 to 8 - depending on the vocabulary, themes, strands and outcomes you're working on. If you're teaching Immersion, this could work for French Grades 1-3.

French Dots and Boxes Game - SAVOIR + INFINITIVE - No prep printable

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure and pronunciation for the target vocabulary and grammar when teaching savoir + infinitive! This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools. The following construction is used: SAIS TU....?

60 different infinitives are used in this game.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your component. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the words on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.
