Fun and engaging Back to School reading posters to foster a positive attitude in the French Immersion or Core French classroom to the world of reading.

I use these posters in my book nook in my classroom so students can explore the world of imagination contained in books.

I use these posters in my French Immersion classroom with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. I feel confident that they could be used for any grade from K-6. They are ideal for classroom decor, bulletin boards, and quiet reading area for young readers.

42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or cardstock

This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize verb conjugations, and it will have your students speaking to each other in French the whole time! In the deck of 42 cards there are 7 families of 6 cards (je - tu - il - nous - vous - ils).

One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the "pioche". One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He might say, "Dans la famille AVOIR, est-ce que tu as J'AI?"

His goal is to come up with a complete family. If the player doesn't have it, he says "pioche". If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

French Number Lines are not always easy to find to fit the tone and feeling of your classroom! I have developed this number line with simple font and easy to read numbers and words so that your students can get started on reading their numbers together. This bright coloured French Number Line will look great in your classroom whether you are just starting out or if you need a fresh new look part-way through the year!

What to expect:

-Numerical bubble with one number in each circle

-numbers 1 to 100 (with an extra bubble with '0' in it for use if you choose)*

*Please note the font I chose does not have an 'accent aigu' so you will have to add it in your own hand.

I have added this number line to my classroom and the students started organically using it whenever a number comes up in conversation. We have a clear gateway to practice from any number and we count forward and backward depending on the whim of the day. Students love to be the one to choose our number of the day and we get counting!

La maison - French 20 questions games - No prep printable speaking activities The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in these 4 versions of the game, students will learn over 200 nouns that go way beyond what they learn from a textbook chapter theme about house and home. The words in the game include rooms in a house, different kinds of housing, parts of a house, common household and garden items and more. These games will work for any level as they are written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only versions! Included: 4 versions with vocabulary written in French and English 4 versions with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the version of the game that you want to use and do a whole class activity. Each version includes 52 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they've played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

Flip Card decks are so handy for the classroom. I use them in small group work to assess and teach specific sounds, combinations of CV sounds, and to decode words together. The large format cards are great for my Grade 1 students as we can do a lot of whole class instruction and the students have so much fun coming up to the front of the class to come up with the 'really hard' CV combinations for their peers to read out loud.

Use the smaller sets for learning centres, individual work, and pair work as your students get familiar with their phonological awareness and phonemic awareness. My students happen to love 'testing' each other by flipping the cards, saying the sound, and then waiting as their 'students' write what they think is the correct letter on their whiteboards!

We love them so much as we can sneak in a little decoding and Science of Reading whenever we get a minute or two of time to fill.

Any French educator who is wanting to practice, assess, and deepen their students understanding of sound work in French. This item is suitable for French Immersion, Core French, and French instruction at any level. Students in the Core French environment can benefit from using these sets independently for writing assignments and group activities. #Restezchezvous - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking game

The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions. This version of the game includes 48 words that are actually ideas of things we can do while sheltering at home. It is NOT intended to be depressing in any way and the only words related to COVID-19 are porter un masque and du gel hydroalcoolique.

Included:

1 game in French only

1 game in English only

Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity.

This game includes 48 words. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words.

One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word.

The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT

Alternative game play:

To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

Il s'agit d'une révision thématique amusante pour passer en revue les décimales avec vos élèves. Cela fonctionne très bien comme brise-glace au début de l'année (pour la 5e/6e!) et fonctionne très bien à la fin de l'année (pour la 4e!) ou comme atelier ou centre amusant pour les 4e, 5e ou 6e. Ce document contient 9 pages:

• 5 pages de 'circulaires' réalistes mais fictifs!
• 6 listes de courses différentes.
• Une copie reproductible/vierge pour créer une liste de course.

Cette "Math Boutique" est la 2e de la collection! Elle permet à vos élèves d'additionner et de multiplier des nombres décimaux avec un nombre entier. J'ai créé des circulaires réalistes mais fictifs qui présentent des produits alimentaires ainsi que des pages thématiques. J'ai également inclus plusieurs listes de courses réalistes mais fictives que vos élèves peuvent utiliser pour cette activité.

J'utilise cette activité à diverses fins. Voici quelques possibilités :

• Demandez à vos élèves de travailler seuls ou à deux pour calculer le total de leur facture d'épicerie ;
• Demandez à vos élèves de comparer les totaux avec les autres ou de se classer du plus petit au plus grand ;
• Demandez à vos élèves d'arrondir les totaux à la hausse ou à la baisse en fonction de la valeur de position sur laquelle vous travaillez ;
• Demandez à vos élèves d'estimer avant d'ajouter leurs éléments ensemble ;
• Faites comparer ces circulaires à vos élèves avec de vrais circulaires en ligne ou sous forme de papier pour trouver le meilleur prix possible ;
• Demandez à vos élèves d'essayer de dresser une liste d'épicerie qui totalise le même (ou aussi près que possible) en utilisant d'autres articles.

French Decodable texts BUNDLE that aligns with the Science of Reading are a NO PREP printable activity for the K-2 French classroom. Students practice endoding and decoding skills and build confidence in reading.

Make a few copies of each text and insert into clear pockets to create a quick and easy reading centre; arrange a table with four copies to create a quiet reading group; use one-on-one with your students to assess reading levels, to gain insights to their decoding skills, and to inform your upcoming lesson plans. This 14-page math situation will have your students creating a budget, following a budget, estimating and calculating total costs and creating their own super surprise bag! It will push your students' financial literacy and understanding of receipts, budgets, costs and quantities of items.

In this 14 page document, you'll find printable price lists, activities and the answer keys for all of the activities. Here are the activities you'll find in this document:

• Price list for all items covered in the printable activity pack;
• An activity on estimating costs (using mental math and multiplying decimal numbers);
• An activity on calculating the true cost of items (using algorithmic multiplication of whole and decimal numbers);
