• Version B includes only the infinitive, so they must first decide which tense to use (preterite or imperfect) and then fill in the blank with the correct form of the verb.
• Version B also includes comprehension questions to be answered in complete sentences in Spanish in the past tense.

Each version of the story with questions is between two and three pages long. The two different versions of every story make differentiation simple!

Avila is a similar format to Vacaciones en España. The Google Slides™ presentation contains original photographs from Ávila, Spain, a beautiful and medieval city to the north of Madrid. Each slide contains text taking students through Ávila’s past (its incredible walls, towers and cathedral) and present-day life with some views of the city!  The text is mainly written in both present and past (preterite and imperfect) and therefore is great for Years 2, 3 and 4. It comes in a Spanish and English version, and students must follow the clues to help solve a crime.  The clues take them all around Spain where they will learn about various aspects of the culture.  Each clue they solve reveals the next clue! Have you tried Integrated Listening and Speaking activities with your Spanish students?  Use these IPA activities to get students listening and responding- just like in tests like AAPPL for the Seal of Biliteracy!  Integrated Performance Assessments mimic real-world interactions, and these activities are great practice for communication!

These no-prep activities include everything you need to assign and go!  Each theme comes with 2 activities with  5 audio links for each, for a total of 10 listening prompts per theme, and 40 total in this bundle.  Students listen to the audio and record a logical response.  They will hear common expressions used on the AAPPL Test like “Hazme preguntas, cuéntame and dame detalles”.

Need a mini-unit on cultural identity for AP Spanish®?  Here you go!!  This product contains 5 different resources to help you and your students understand cultural identity.  First, there is a great resource for the teacher to read about what things make up our cultural identity.  There are 4 articles for students to read- a great jigsaw activity where groups of 4 each summarize an article for other students!  There’s an amazing audio about how language influences our cultural identity!  *It’s in English, but WELL worth it!  There are discussion questions for small group or whole class chats, and there is a project that asks students to explore one aspect of cultural identity in a Spanish-speaking country and compare it with the US.
