This is a fun seasonal Christmas and Winter Holiday geography activity that students will find engaging and fun!

This is a great lesson for the week before Winter/Holiday Break. Students will take a Christmas journey around the world! If you need an activity for 1-2 days, this lesson is easy to modify to the time limitations you may have. Not only will they have fun, but they will be learning to work together to complete the tasks! Every moment is a teaching moment.

This lesson takes students on a journey using Journey Cards to cities and towns around the world that have Christmas names. Students will work in teams and will use Google Earth Online to explore each location on the Journey Cards as well as practice plotting the absolute location of each location. Students will look at the location, the physical characteristics, and fun facts. Every moment is a teaching moment, even those days before the holiday break.

OBJECTIVES:

(1) The learner will plot the coordinates of towns with Christmas names on a coordinate plot map using latitude and longitude (Absolute Location).

(2) The learner will explore cities and towns around the world with Christmas and winter-themed names using Google Earth.
(3) The learner will identify the continent, hemisphere, physical features, and interesting physical or cultural facts related to each city or town.
(3) The learner will evaluate and compare the towns and cities' location, environment, and living conditions to determine where they would most and less likely live.

Digital Student Portfolio Project for Google Sites

This digital student portfolio project for Google Sites is the perfect way to help your students showcase their work in a professional, organized, and user-friendly way. With this product, you can quickly create portfolios that highlight student work, achievements, and more. Students need to know what tools are used in the kitchen when they are planning on cooking or working in a restaurant. Learning the tools found in the kitchen improve the life and work skills for all students.

Life Skills: Kitchen Tools Level No Prep Unit provides direct instruction in familiarizing students with tools used in a kitchen. These skills will assist your students in becoming more independent in their daily life. There are 30 total self-grading Google Slides activity cards where the student matches the same kitchen tool out of a choice of 3 tools. If the student chooses the “correct” slides, they will see a "correct" slide and if it is incorrect, they will see a "try again" slide and they will have an opportunity to try again. I envisaged this to be a September week 1 internet activity. It will give students an opportunity to think about how other people perceive them. It could also be used as a lesson in how to search Google effectively or used as a dictionary / thesaurus activity, where students have to find descriptive words in order to search for appropriate pictures on Google Images.

These have been doing the rounds on FaceBook and email recently. You may have received posters / postcards entitled "Teachers...." or "Moms..." and then under the title are a series of photos with captions like;

Each caption is accompanied by an image of what that person thinks about the other person or group of people.

The sample here is of the "Teacher..." postcard. This is NOT what I am selling. I am selling a similar template entitled, "Students..." It is laid out the same as the teacher one with the same titles (the word teacher has been replaced with student), however, the pictures are missing. Students must search Google Images for appropriate pictures that characterize themselves. The photo titles are as follows;
