It’s so important that we learn how to respond to others in an effective way. As educators, we often see our students struggle to communicate with empathy and respect. Being able to have constructive conversations is an essential skill for our students to learn.

This resource equips teachers with practical suggestions for a positive approach to communication. Too often we see our students wrestling with ways to talk to each other that are socially sensitive. Especially in times of conflict, we want to provide our students with productive ways to verbalize their thoughts and feelings. It’s critical that our students learn to listen to each other while also feeling heard.

Responding to others with constructive words is a beneficial skill for our middle and high school students to learn. This ability to talk to others kindly is a life skill they will need in their daily life not just as kids and teenagers but into the future too.

Do your Spanish students need some help with interpersonal speaking?  Are they struggling to have conversations in Spanish?  Let’s give them some guided support with these partner conversations about Jobs & Employment!  Both students will have the opportunity to ask and answer questions as part of a conversation, but with a lot of scaffolding to build confidence.  Guided conversations provide general guidance about how to keep the conversation going without telling students exactly what to say. 

There are 4 guided conversations, so both students will have a chance to ask and answer questions in a conversational way.  Two versions are for Intermediate Low students, but are pre-differentiated.  2 of the conversations are based mainly in the present tense, and the other 2 feature future and past tenses.

• Students will work in partners to participate in a guided conversation
• Students will trade roles so both can practice asking questions and answering questions

What type of economy do we live in? How does it affect our way of life, what we own, where we work, how we obtain resources, and how goods and services are produced? This resource will help your students understand the different types of economies and how each plays a role in cultures around the world.

Understanding economic systems — Traditional economy, market economy, command economy, and mixed economy — can influence the way we live, work, and obtain resources. Working in groups, students will engage themselves in completing task cards after a PowerPoint or Keynote introductory presentation. Job / Work Skills are an important part of our Middle School / High School special education / Autism student’s learning. Differentiate your vocational lessons with this Multi-Level Mail Sorting Bundle! Learn to sort mail just like Postal Workers! Teaching students vocational skills is a critical part of a special education / transition to work program. This unit helps students practice job, pre-vocational, and life skills by reading the last name on an envelope and sorting the mail into the correct mailbox.

There are 3 Levels. Level 1 has 6 mail boxes with same color coding. Level 2 has 9 mailboxes with different color coding, and Level 3 has 12 mailboxes with NO color coding. Each level is progressively more difficulty and the cues / prompts are faded. There are 12 choices (mailboxes). The student will read the "mail" and determine the last name of the recipient. They will then choose the correct mailbox to "deliver" the mail based on the last name of the recipient and the mailbox.

These skills will assist your students in becoming more independent in their daily / work life. Each level has 30 self-grading Google Slides activity cards, a Title Page, Ways To Use Page, and Congratulations page. This is a set of 140 French relative pronouns practice cards focusing on QUI - QUE - OÙ - DONT. These cards are so much more fun (and challenging) than classic worksheets. There's lots of repetition, and that's what our students need to practice and master these confusing relative pronouns. My students find it particularly fun to use these cards as a guessing game with a partner or small group, and even the mysterious DONT becomes a lot easier! Each card displays an image, and beneath the image it is written how to say it in French. For example, C'est un lave-vaisselle. Students are prompted to say at least two sentences using relative pronouns to describe the image, and their partner(s) have to guess what it is. At the top of the card it may say C'est quelque chose que..... or C'est quelque chose dont..... and at the bottom of the card it may say C'est quelque chose où..... or C'est quelque chose qui..... Students have to finish the sentences using correct grammar, and they need to give enough information for their partner to make an intelligent guess.

In the beginning, it can be very difficult for students to formulate their own sentences, and that's why there are two sets of 70 cards included with this resource.

SET ONE: The cards have two clues already written on them. This is a nice way for students to warm up to the activity, understand how it works, and get in some valuable practice and examples. In this version, students read the clues to their partner(s) and soak in the grammar while their peers practice their listening skills.

SET TWO: These are the same cards, but the clues are not written on them. Students will have already practiced with SET ONE, and should be able to come up with their own sentences (and if they remember the ones from SET ONE... all the better)! The only clues they are given is whether they should follow the prompt with a subject or verb since those rules can be tricky and hard to remember.

These practice cards provide a quick NO PREP activity that you can use for years to come. You have the option of printing and cutting out the cards (4 per page - laminate if possible) or having students use the PDF file on their devices (1 per page).
