This pack of 20 Social Skills Scenario Task Cards highlight real-life social scenarios and situations centered around APOLOGIZING and can be used to help young "kiddos" of all levels and abilities (in grades 1-3) to practice and build social skills. These highly relevant scenarios expose young learners to skills they need to interact with others effectively, forge positive relationships, improve social skills and behavior, and most importantly, build confidence in managing situations and apologizing when necessary.

The Task Cards and DIFFERENTIATED Worksheets require students to think about the situation, what happened, how their actions contributed to the problem presented, how the people involved in the situations may be feeling, and what they can do or say to address the problems appropriately. It also provides opportunities for them to understand how certain actions lead to negative consequences (and "hurt" feelings) and recognize the importance of apologizing.

DIFFERENTIATED WORKSHEETS

The 20 scenarios comes in 5 different worksheet formats to ensure that you meet the needs of all your students:

Format #1: Multiple-Choice (20 Worksheets) (Lower-Level)

Students read the scenario and four multiple-choice questions and choose the best answer choice. (There are a total of four multiple-choice questions with three answer choices to choose from.) Also included on this worksheet is an image that reflects the scenario. Students can color in the image for fun! Yay!

Format #2: Fill-In (20 Worksheets) (Mid – Lower Level)

Students read the scenario, then the question stems that consist of a blank line. They will fill in the blanks with the appropriate words. There is a word bank, under the scenario, for students to choose a word from and put it on the blank line.

Format #3: Short Answer (20 Worksheets) (Higher-Level)

Students read the scenario and answer three questions about the scenario. These questions consist of the following:

1. What happened between X and Y?

2. How does X feel and why?

3. What can you do or say to X in this situation?

Format #4: Graphic Organizer (20 Worksheets) (Lower - Higher-Level)

These worksheets consists of two speech bubbles where students read the scenario and are asked to write down what is something they would SAY (in the first speech bubble) and something they would DO (in the second speech bubble) if they were in this situation.

Format #5: “BLANK” Question (20 Worksheets) (Lower / Higher-Level)

These worksheets consist of the scenarios and a “blank” section for you, as the teacher, to generate your OWN questions (based on the scenario) and students write it down and answer it. GREAT FLEXIBILITY!

The Social Skills “Apologizing” Worksheets can be used as part of a larger lesson or in guided small groups, whole-class discussions, partner discussion before sharing out with the larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian!

• Role-Playing: Students can collaborate in pairs or groups to act out a variety of scenarios and demonstrate appropriate responses. Role-playing activities can also be used to show how skills are used improperly and then asking the 'audience' to help reenact properly. This activity can ultimately improve confidence, communication, and assertiveness skills.
• Icebreaker: This can be a great way to start a meeting, training session, or team-building activity. It’s also a great way to get students to get to know each other and buy into the purpose of an upcoming activity or lesson.
• Play Writing Exercise: Students can work in groups to create skits or scenes then perform the skit for the class.
• Writing Response: Students can be given a scenario to read and then write their responses. Students can switch papers with a partner who then reads their responses and determines whether they agree/disagree with their responses/approaches to these real-life scenarios.
• Discussion: Students can discuss the Social Scenario Task Cards in groups or whole class. They can discuss things like “What would you do?”, “Why would you do that?”, and “What are some other options you could consider?”

This Match-Select-Name (M-S-N) Reading and Writing Bundle contains both the reading and writing packs of the Basketball M-S-N unit. These units provide resources for the acquisition and fluency stages of the M-S-N method.

The Match-Select-Name method was presented by L. Oelwein. There has been a significant amount of research done on the efficacy of this method.

It is shown to be beneficial for students with exceptionalities including Down’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder who are struggling to learn

to read using phonics.

The resources included in this unit support the acquisition and fluency stages for the 24 words in the set. The sight words in this set are from the Pre-primer and Primer Dolch word lists. Within this bundle there are 6 sets of 4 words with reading books (using both regular and open dyslexic fonts), flash cards, writing sheets and colouring sheets for each word. This Functional Literacy Skills - Days of the Week Task Box and Visual Schedule Bundle is the perfect way to help students learn the days of the week as they begin the new school year! This set allows students to learn the days of the week, as well as their order. Students can then generalize this learning by creating and following a weekly schedule.  Task Box activities and Visual Schedule can be laminated and placed in task boxes or file folders, allowing them to be prepped once and reused with all of your students!

You will find 4 different CVCe word work centers in this bundle. Students can practice how the magic e at the end of the word causes the vowel to become long.

The following products are in this bundle:

1. CVCe Spelling Word Cards - This set of cards contains CVCe words and letter tiles for students to fill the missing letters on the word cards. There are cards for reviewing beginning sounds, long vowels, and spelling the entire word.

2. CVCe Self Checking Word Cards - This set of cards are designed to be an independant center where students practice reading CVCe words. After reading the word, they open the card to check to see if the word was read correctly.

3. CVCe Non-Sense Word Cards - There are two card formats in this product. There are cards in the same form as the Self-Checking cards above where students can use to sort real and non-sense words. (Non-sense words have no pictures inside). There are also just word cards for students to practice reading non-sense words. (COMING SOON)

4. CVCe vs. CVC Clip Cards - Each clip card has a picture of a CVCe or a CVC word and students must put the clip on the correct spelling of the word.

Practice reading and spelling CVCe words. Students can get practice filling in the missing letters in the magic e words. Print the silent e letter tiles in a different color to show students the E does not make a sound!

This set contains 35 unique CVCe cards where students can complete hands on word work activities. There is a set of cards that focus on beginning sounds, middle sounds, magic e, as well as a set that focuses on spelling the CVCe words.

This is a low prep center where you just need to print, laminate and cut out the cards. You can mark clothespins with the correct letters for students to clip to the cards in the correct space. You can use the letter tiles provided in this packet to complete the cards. You can also use magnetic letters, wooden or plastic letter tiles, or any other letter manipulative to fill in the missing letters.

(Optional) Add Velcro dots to the cards with the missing letters and tiles so they stick easily.
