Game Modes:

Classic Connect Four with a Valentine's Day theme.
Connect Four with Questions (25+25): Easily editable questions for any subject of your choice, with 25 questions in set A and 25 questions in set B.
Connect Four with Questions (A+B): Enjoy the challenge of 50 questions from both sets A and B combined.

This resource includes two default sets of questions tailored for 1st-grade and 2nd-grade students. Each set and the combined A+B set have been configured to appear randomly, ensuring a unique gaming experience every time.

Keep track of scores using the counter after each game, and restart with the button on top.

How to Play Valentine Connect4:

Players aim to connect four discs of the same color in a row to win.
Only one piece is played at a time.
Players can take offensive or defensive strategies.
The game ends when there is a 4-in-a-row or a stalemate.
The previous game's starter goes second in the next game.

How to Play Valentine Connect4 with Questions:

Divide your class into 2 teams.
Players aim to connect four discs of the same color in a row to win.
Only one piece is played at a time.
Players can take offensive or defensive strategies.
If a player wants to put their piece in a space with a question, they must clear it first. Click on the question symbol and then on one of the question cards. Answer correctly to keep playing; otherwise, you lose your turn.
The game ends with a 4-in-a-row or a stalemate.
The previous game's starter goes second in the next game.
Among the 42 heart spaces, there are 25 question symbols. Seventeen spaces do not require answering questions to place a disc.

How to Edit the Questions:

It's easy! Go to the slide you want to change and display the Selection Panel in PowerPoint to see all items. Click on the "Question" item, delete the current question, and type the new one. Repeat the process for the "Answer" item to change the answer.
Never delete a slide or a textbox.

Important: This is a PowerPoint Show with enabled Macros for shuffling cards. Enable content when required after opening the file so this function works.

If you prefer not to enable Macros, we offer the same game without Macros in our store. However, please note that questions will not appear randomly, requiring manual question changes to maintain unpredictability.

This resource includes 25 default questions specially designed for 1st-grade students, but you have the flexibility to easily customize the questions to fit any grade level or subject of your choice.

Keep track of the scores with the counter provided each time you finish a game, making it even more enjoyable for your students.

To start a new game, simply click the button at the top to restart the Connect Four board.

How to Play Valentine Connect Four:

Players must connect four discs of the same color in a row to win.
Each player takes turns placing one disc at a time.
Players can adopt offensive or defensive strategies to outwit their opponent.
The game ends when a player successfully connects four discs in a row, or if the board is filled, resulting in a stalemate.
The player who started the previous game goes second in the next game.

How to Play Valentine Connect Four with Questions:

Divide your class into two teams.
Players must connect four discs of the same color in a row to win.
Only one disc is played at a time.
Players can be on the offensive or defensive.
If a player wants to place their disc in a space with a question, they must answer the question correctly first. Click on the question symbol, and it will take you to a question slide. Click on Cupid to reveal the answer. If the question is answered correctly, the player can continue their turn by placing the disc. If answered incorrectly, the player loses their turn without placing any disc.
The game ends when a player successfully connects four discs in a row, or if the board is filled, resulting in a stalemate.
The player who started the previous game goes second in the next game.

Among the 42 heart spaces on the board, there are 25 question symbols. This means that 17 spaces do not require answering any questions to place a disc.

Editing the questions is straightforward. Simply go to the slide with the question you wish to change, delete the existing question, and type in the new one. Go to the next slide to modify the answer accordingly.

Rest assured, we offer a version without Macros for those who prefer not to use them. However, if you trust Macros, consider exploring our Macros version. It offers added features such as random questions, ensuring you never play the same game twice. Additionally, it includes three sets of questions: 25 questions for 1st graders, 25 questions for 2nd graders, and a set with all 50 questions from the previous sets combined.

Back to School Activities for 1st-3rd Grade

3 Friendship Puzzles: Students work with a friend to color the puzzle pieces. Then they work with their friend to build the puzzle by gluing the pieces to the grid page.
3 My Friends Bingo: In each box is a description. After you read the description, students find a friend who fits the description and then they let them write their name in the box on the line. Have students complete all the boxes like a blackout in Bingo or just 3 in a row.
3 Student Surveys:
- Option 1: Choose 1 out of the 3 surveys for students to complete.
- Option 2: Let students choose 1 out of the 3 surveys to complete. - Option 3: Students can fill out all 3 of the surveys.
My Class Friends Book: Students will interview a friend with the interview page. Collect and turn into a class book using either the color or black and white cover page. (color and black & white options included for the cover page!)
My Backpack: Students write their names on the line and decorate their backpacks with pictures of all their favorite things to represent them. Have students share their backpacks in small groups or with a partner.
3 Crowns & Extenders: Print on cardstock and allow your students to color the crown and extender pieces. Glue the extender pieces (or sentence strips if you have them) on the crown and wrap them around students' heads. Staple to keep in place. (color and black & white options included!)
Friendship Bracelets:
Print and cut the color or black and white friendship bracelets. Students can write the name of the friend they interviewed on the line and color. Wrap around students' wrists and glue in place. They can wear them home to share with parents. (color and black & white options included!)
Bus Craft & Writing: Students color and cut out the school bus. Then they respond to the writing prompt on the following page and cut out the response. Glue both to a separate page and use for a hallway display if desired.

Math to School Activities for 1st-3rd Grade

Editable Teacher Slideshow: Edit the templates in Google Slides and share them with your students so they can get to know their new teacher using numbers.
Figure Me Out Math: Students will introduce themselves to the class by creating math equations that give clues about themselves. Includes an editable template!
My Grade in Numbers: Students will examine the numbers in their lives while expressing themselves creatively through personal illustrations and coloring. Includes an editable template!
Math Goal Setting: Students set a goal for math and make a 3 action step plan to reach their goal for the school year.
Math Survey: Students color in an emoji face that best represents their feelings about each math topic. Includes an editable template!

How can you use these task cards?

⭐Have the task cards available in makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, as a reward, or available for early finishers to complete using ANY available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card or slide a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet or slide, and discuss as a class.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build and then show and tell with the class or their parents. They can discuss what they made, liked, what they would improve, and how it solved the problem on the task cards. They can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

⭐Ideally the goal is to do one challenge a day, but you could certainly allow students to do more than one!

Why do I think you will love this product, and what makes my challenge set unique?

I love silly stories that bring humor and adventure to life for kids, but that also force them to use their imaginations in fun and exciting ways. This challenge task set does exactly that through the loose wacky stories where they are the main character. Silly scenarios, adventure and disaster, problem solving, and learning, are all part of the experience when completing these challenges.
