To get a pattern to STICK in a new readers brain we need to read AND spell with a word and provide context. These self-correcting picture cards are perfect to achieve that goal!
Within this product your child will be exposed to beginning and end blends with short vowels. You can have the child read the card and flip it over to see if the picture matches the word or you can use the spelling mats to have the child look at the picture, say the word, and spell the word. When they are done they can flip the card over to check their spelling.
Phonics Rules/Patterns Posters (SOR)
By K3 Homeschool Foundations
These posters help children to identify the pattern in words, how they are used, how to correctly map the sounds, and how to mark the word when spelling.
As a teacher, I was always struggling to remember each rule or pattern for the syllable types or patterns I was teaching! These are great to support YOU and your STUDENTS. You can cover them up when you haven't learned a pattern yet and they get to "unlock" the code as you work on that lesson!
Includes:
6 syllable types
The 7 jobs of silent e
Word Families
Prefixes and suffixes (how to map them) & what the prefixes and suffixes are and what their definition is
Homophones, homographs, homonyms
Phonemic Awareness Cards R-Controlled Vowels
By K3 Homeschool Foundations
Let's be honest, phonemic awareness can be SO boring for our students! Whenever we are working on it they want to use the words in sentences or want to see a picture of what that word means! Now they have a picture to connect to the word!
These cards are so much fun my students beg me to work with them! I let them choose their manipulative; whether it is play-dough to tap, legos, chips, or blocks! This also gives those kiddos struggling with blending and segmenting a concrete method to gain those skills!
The cards are broken into each vowel so that you can easily practice phonemic awareness with the vowel you are working on. You can also mix them up so they can practice the skill for each vowel!
-Includes
-vowels; ar,or,er,ur,ir
-R-controlled vowel words with a picture
-Sound boxes on the front
-The word and amount of sounds on the back for self-correction!
Tap it, Map it, Graph it|Word Mapping; Digraphs
By K3 Homeschool Foundations
These are perfect for small-group instruction or centers! Slide them in sheet protectors or laminate and you can reuse them! You can print these cards double-sided (on the short side) so that students can self-correct!
This creates meaning for words that follow the phonics pattern they are learning. This is important in helping the child turn these words into sight words!

It is important for a child to understand what a syllable IS and how to break words apart into syllables! When children begin to read and write multisyllabic words it will be vital they understand how to break the word into their syllables! This is a great hands-on and engaging way to work on syllables! Pick a manipulative that your child wants to use and get to work! Use them in centers or during small group!
