Practice sight word recognition with these sight word flip books for the Pre-Primer sight word list. These books can be differentiated for multiple student levels. Students will find, spell, write and read the sight word through out the pages of this flip book.

Each sight word books comes with the following pages:

Page 2: Cover Page

Page 3: Find and Color – Color the sight word as you find it.

Page 4: Trace and Write – Trace the sight word then write the sight word.

Page 5: Spell It – Use various mediums to spell the sight word.

Page 6: Cut and Paste – Use the provided tiles or look for the word in magazines to cut out and glue.

Page 7: Read, Write and Draw – Students will read the sentence, write the sentence and illustrate the sentence.

French Reading Comprehension Program - Set 1 - Ten Weeks - Lire tous les jours

This ten-week French reading comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These week-long reading programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate levels, and they will have your students reading tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi en français.

Each of the week-long reading themes in this program includes five French readings with comprehension questions for Monday through Friday. These readings are a great way to reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures, and they are meant to accompany my whole year French writing program which follows the same themes.

Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete French reading and writing programs. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

✍Lundi: VOCABULAIRE - List of 12 words and expressions; J'écris mes douze mots de la semaine

✍Lundi: LIRE - Read paragraph #1 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Lundi: ÉCRIRE -  Je dessine - Give students a drawing page with a writing prompt at the top. This will have them beginning to think about the writing theme for the week and is their first pre-writing assignment. Kids love drawing, and the pictures they draw will later serve as inspiration!

✍Mardi: VOCABULAIRE - Je recopie mes douze mots de la semaine 3 fois; Je mets mes douze mots de la semaine dans l'ordre alphabétique

✍Mardi: LIRE - Read paragraph #2 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mardi: ÉCRIRE - Mon livret de vocabulaire - Each student receives a French booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used French words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them colour it.

✍Mercredi: VOCABULAIRE - Je découpe et je colle mes douze mots de la semaine

✍Mercredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #3 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mercredi: ÉCRIRE - Vocabulaire - Students go back to their French vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.”

✍Jeudi: VOCABULAIRE - Dots & Boxes: Je joue avec un ami; Je cherche mes douze mots cachés de la semaine

✍Jeudi: LIRE - Read paragraph #4 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Jeudi: ÉCRIRE - Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the French vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. 

✍Vendredi: VOCABULAIRE - J'écris des phrases avec mes douze mots de la semaine

✍Vendredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #5 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Vendredi: ÉCRIRE - Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this French writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and French question words that they can ask themselves while writing:  qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment

This ten-week French writing program will have your students reading every day of the week. These week-long reading programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level primary or secondary levels, and they will have your students reading tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi. Each of the week-long reading themes in this program includes five readings with comprehension questions for Monday through Friday. You get a total of 50 no-prep, black and white, one page readings and questions. Check out the video preview to see exactly how this program works.

These readings are a great way to reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures, and they are meant to accompany my whole year French writing and vocabulary programs which follow the same themes.

Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete reading and writing program. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

Use these weekly no-prep reading activities with many different levels whether you teach in immersion, core, or traditional settings.

Here’s how to use this reading program + accompanying full-year writing component which is sold separately:

✍Lundi: LIRE - Read paragraph #1 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Lundi: ÉCRIRE -  Je dessine - Give students a drawing page with a writing prompt at the top. This will have them beginning to think about the writing theme for the week and is their first pre-writing assignment. Kids love drawing, and the pictures they draw will later serve as inspiration!

✍Mardi: LIRE - Read paragraph #2 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mardi: ÉCRIRE - Mon livret de vocabulaire - Each student receives a booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used French words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them colour it.

✍Mercredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #3 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mercredi: ÉCRIRE - Vocabulaire - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.”

✍Jeudi: LIRE - Read paragraph #4 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Jeudi: ÉCRIRE - Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections. 

✍Vendredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #5 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Vendredi: ÉCRIRE - Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing:  qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment
