Colorful Semantics uses color coded cards to help children to learn the important elements of a sentence and how to join them together in the correct order. WORKSHEETS

NO-PREP, PRINT & GO! You can use just the cut and paste pages or also pass out the additional sentence writing page that matches. The second page can also be used for early finishers. The ABC cut and paste worksheet has the alphabet listed as a reference. The sentences page has an editing checklist on it.

LITERACY CENTER

Cut apart the 26 picture/word cards and place in center. Print one or both recording sheets and place in center. Students choose 6 picture/word cards, copy those 6 words onto their cut and paste sheet, then complete their worksheet. If you place the second worksheet at the station, students will choose 4 of their words to practice sentence writing and editing.

This packet focuses on learning about the different kinds of animals that live in the grasslands. Included are writing pages, project instructions, center activities and wall posters. It can be a simple packet for talking about the animals in general or you can go further by learning about the animals in the tropical grasslands vs. the temperate grasslands as well as learning which ones live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie/Great Plains. Table of Contents Pages 3-5 – These pages are a sorting activity where students can sort the animals according to whether they are in a tropical grassland or in a temperate grassland. This project aims to help your child/students practice their research skills. They will pick one of the "realms" or regions based on the realms represented in the Nutcracker Ballet (when visiting after Marie/Clara rescues the Nutcracker/Prince). Children/students can practice following instructions and requirements by following the assignment's instructions. Two options are available to complete the report. 1. Predesigned Research Page or 2. Written Research Report (with introduction and conclusion). An optional presentation extension is available for students to create a project based on architecture, dress, or food research done on their report. Rubrics and student instructions are available for each report/and the Presentation.
