How to use:

1. Ich habe..., wer hat...? Card Game

Print out, cut up. It can be played in small or large groups. Hand out all of

the cards to pupils, each has roughly the same number of cards. The student

with the 1st card starts by asking Wer hat... The pupil with the matching

card replies Ich habe... and asks Wer hat...? The game finishes when pupils get to the last card.

During the activity teacher monitors the correct use of articles.

2. Cut and Paste Picture Dictionary

Each pupil gets 1 set of picture cards and 1 set of word cards. Pupils cut them

out. They can either glue them onto the provided sheets or in their notebooks.

Make sure they glue the picture and word cards in the correct article

category.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Print out the BINGO boards.

2. Print and cut out the call-out cards and counters.

3. Review Spanish numbers vocabulary with your class using the call-out cards.

4. Distribute the bingo boards and counters.

5. In Spanish, talk about how to spell each number and have the students write them on their own BINGO board.

6. Start playing BINGO!

Tengo… ¿Quién tiene..? Spanish Numbers 0 - 30 - I have...Who has?

This game includes 31 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again. Two sets are included. The first set is for beginners. It has clues in which the numbers are written in alphabetical and numerical form. The second set only has the numbers written in numerical form. You can get the French version here.

Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says Tengo la primera tarjeta. Comienzo, begins the game. He says, for example, Comienzo. Tengo dieciséis. ¿Quién tiene cero? The person who has the card with cero on it says, Tengo cero. ¿Quién tiene doce? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, Tengo quince, ¡Se acabó!

Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. It's a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.

Directions

Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
• Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheet.

Boost your students' vocabulary surrounding Fall and Halloween with this Make-Your-Own Bingo activity suitable for all ages and all levels of French.

Dots and Boxes Game - ALPHABET - French or ANY language - No prep printable

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure and pronunciation for the alphabet in FRENCH or ANY LANGUAGE! This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools. This game is included in my Ça y est, Je parle français! French 1 & 2 curriculum.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your component. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the letters on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.

What is trimino (triomino) puzzle and how to use it:

• similar to domino BUT trimino cards have a triangular shape
• INSTRUCTIONS:
• Simply cut up the puzzle pieces and let your pupils put them back together. The resultant shape is that of a star.
• Students need to match the similes with the correct picture.
• You can print out a few puzzles and turn it into a competition. Whoever resolves the puzzle first, wins. It can be also played in teams.
• I highly recommend printing the black & white trimino puzzles on different coloured papers. You won't get them accidentally mixed-up.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

12 games are included with 48 different categories! You can either print out the game sheets or project them to save paper and ink. For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.

I've included both a beginner and intermediate version of the game as well as black and white and color versions. The beginner version has the words written out and the intermediate version only shows pictures. Have a look at the thumbnails to see what they look like.

Each version includes 41 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again.

Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says "Je commence" starts the game. He says, for example, Je commence! J'ai une fraise. Qui a une orange? The person who has the card with an orange on it says, J'ai une orange. Qui a du bacon? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, J'ai fini!

Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. If the vocabulary is completely new you could start out with the beginner deck and as the words become more familiar you could move on to the intermediate level. It's really a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.
