Step into a world where art meets gaming excitement! Our Colorful Tetris Color theory | Elementary art sub plans is a lifesaver for art teachers facing unexpected absences. With its easy-to-follow NO PREP instructions and minimal materials required, substitute teachers can effortlessly guide students through this engaging activity, ensuring that learning never skips a beat. You will also teach primary and secondary colors, it can also be used to review color theory or to check students' knowledge.
Foster Collaboration and Critical Thinking:
As students collaborate to solve Tetris-inspired challenges, they develop essential teamwork and critical thinking skills. Through lively discussions and creative problem-solving, they learn to communicate effectively and support each other's artistic endeavors.
It is a good art game to use during the first and last week of school as an art sub-plan and an early finisher activity.
There are two ways to play it: cooperatively or competitively. I confess that I prefer cooperatively.
My students were so excited that some did it a few times until they got the gold medal (rulers on how to play are on the teachers' guide)
Teach or review primary and secondary colors with this student-tested game.

Secret Mission Behavior Management Activity to encourage positivity
By Until the Pieces Fit
Are you looking for an easy way to improve student behaviors? This is a fun, easy, print and go activity.
I use the secret missions with my students. Simply print the packet, cut out, and post the missions in your room (be sure to cover each mission with a "secret mission" card".
Then the magic begins. Each morning during your morning meeting time chose a kiddo to uncover a mission. Discuss the mission, the importance of it, what it looks like. I generally have a secret task force who also watches for the behaviors. Then when your children are "caught" they earn a party point/tally/ball (whatever reinforcer you use) for your class. Currently my kids are working to earn hot chocolate with toppings.
I hope this is something fun for you and your kiddos. Please be sure to follow me for additional resources and updates!

By Down in the Art Room
Students love Day of the Dead. This resource lets students practice their artmaking skills while playing a Roll the Dice game to create a calavera. Simple instructions and game board are included along with multiple choices of blank calaveras for students to create their own unique sugar skull. With high student engagement, this multicultural resource is a great way to bring Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) into your classroom.
This resource includes a game board and instructions plus 2 blank game boards (dice numbers and all categories are included on 1, dice numbers and 2 categories with the rest of the categories blank on the other), multiple blank calaveras for students to use to create their calavera in the game plus so much more!

The game is perfect to leave as a sub lesson for grades 2-5 (or middle school). Laminate blank game boards and calaveras and let students design their own game using dry erase markers, then play the game they created, or simply print out paper copies. It can be used as an activity for students who finish another project early since it is self-directed and can be played by 1 or multiple students.
Multiple variations and suggestions are included. National Core Arts Standards and TEKS (for those teachers in Texas) are included for grades 2-5.

WHY BUY THIS?
Aren’t we all a little more engaged when material is presented to us in a fun way? With this customizable game board, you can turn any worksheet, practice test, or topic into an irresistible game that students are begging you to play.

The odds of finding a review game for this specific test on TeachShare are pretty slim, so save the time spent searching for something and create a game yourself.
This editable template allows you to create a jeopardy-style review game to match exactly what you want students to learn and practice. Just divide the material into the main categories and input the questions and answers into the game board. BOOM, it’s ready to play!
I’ve even included a question planning template and step-by-step instructions to make the planning process even easier for you!
The options are endless. Create as many different games as you want and play them for years to come.

French Halloween Activity Pack:
Fun and engaging activity sheets to reinforce and explore French Phonics SOUNDS in the Kindergarten to Grade 3 French Immersion classroom. Students will love the intriguing graphics and have fun finding the target sounds, searching for Halloween vocabulary, and building encoding and decoding skills with each activity. This activity aligns with the Science of Reading and blends well with all French programs across Canada and around the globe where French is being taught. Perfectly suits Son-au-graphe, Bien Lire, Aimer Lire, CBE French program, and Pratique Phonémique (all resources currently being used in Canadian French Immersion schools). Explore beginning phonics concepts with your students as they engage in fun and exciting Halloween themed activities.
How to prepare this resource:
Prep for this activity DOES INCLUDE SOME TIME ON YOUR PART! Make a copy of each page, insert into clear pocket, dry erase pocket, or use as individual worksheets and watch as the giggles get started. My students LOVE these activities. I cannot make them fast enough.
Detailed instructions for each activity are set out at the top of each activity and could not be easier.
There is a little cutting and laminating involved with some activities but many use clear folders to make your job easier!
Perfect for a sub binder, emergency plans, or as a back up activity when you happen to have a few minutes to spare. A great set to have on hand as an extra centre activity at Halloween time. Your K-3 Immersion students will love them!
When to use this resource in the classroom:
These activity sheets are Halloween themed and can be used for the entire month of October and even into the week following Halloween. Students love using them and they can be helpful for follow-up assessment. Just in time for progress reporting period!
I hope your students enjoy learning their vowel sounds and exploring phonemic awareness with a Halloween Theme!
Appropriate audience:
I use these activities in my French Immersion classroom with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. I feel confident that they could be used for any grade from Kindergarten to Grade three.

Here's what a few teachers are saying about resources in my store:
Jennifer H. stated:
***** Extremely satisfied
My board has moved toward a strong literacy/phonics focus in Gr. 1/2. This resource was great because it fit in so perfectly with what students had experienced in English and what I needed to teacher. Loved it.
Julie G. said:
***** Extremely satisfied
This has been a fun way for students to review their letters. I love that each page gives students an opportunity to write the letter, find the letter and find the sounds. Merci!
What grade level:
I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from Kindergarten to Grade Three will find these most useful and teachers can come back to the texts with any students who may be experiencing challenges in their French reading skills. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.

When to use this resource in the classroom:
After you have delivered your lesson on the Science of Reading and you have introduced and reviewed the target sound, you may want to show students how to use the resource in a group lesson.
Once students have the idea in mind and can identify the target sound cards, it’s time to make it a centre and let them explore the resource on their own!
