I have recreated a classroom version for SPANISH LEARNERS called: ¡PÁREME LA MANO! also called in other countries, TUTTI FRUTI o PARA EL FUEGO. This is a fun game we used to play in school growing up in South America. I have tried in my own classroom and kids LOVE IT! This is such a great game to practice vocabulary and parts of the speech.

This product contains two versions of this game. One for individual play and one for a group game. There are a set of rules for both games but these are just suggested rules as you can set your own depending of the group of kids you teach. Your students will enjoy practicing the passé composé with avoir in this French haunted house game!  As they complete the tasks, they will gather the objects needed to free the ghost from the house.  The game is self-grading and students will need to get all of the answers correct in order to move on. While there are a couple of instances of the passé composé with être, most of the verbs use avoir.

There are 5 different challenges.  The tasks will have students using different skills to practice the passé composé. Each task will help the student gather a meaningful family object.

Task 1: Listen to the audio and put the images of life events in the correct order.

Task 2: Read the information about when the people were born and died and find the correct portrait - a great numbers review!

Task 3: Put the correct past participle in the paragraph to complete the story.

Task 4: Play "memory" to match the French sentences with the English translations.

Task 5: Match the irregular past participle with the infinitive verb.

At the end of the game, the students will have 5 different object.  They will put those objects in front of a family tomb to free the ghost and no longer have a haunted house.  As the game does not track student data, you will want them to take a screenshot as proof of completion.

These three pre-reading activities are the perfect introduction to the literature unit for The Scarlet Letter by Nathanial Hawthorne. The activities are anticipatory and get students in the mindset of Puritan and Colonial New England life, put in the shoes of the community members of those times, learn some initial vocabulary, and have the opportunity to tie this all together by writing what they think the novel is about based on these pre-reading activities.

What does this product include?

• One debate/discussion slideshow with 15 statements such as, "People should always be forgiven for their mistakes, no matter how serious the mistake."
• One group/class game "Secret Sinner"
• One printable worksheet with 8 vocabulary words such as "redemption" and "ostracism" for students to match with the definition. This worksheet has an added game in which when all the vocab words have been matched with their definition, students will unscramble the secret word (which is another vocab word), and they have space to write what they think the novel, The Scarlet Letter, is about based on the vocabulary words

How should I use these activities in the classroom?

You will ultimately determine how these three activities can be used, and they truly can be used in whichever order you see fit. And if you have a class full of students who are completely unfamiliar with the plot of The Scarlet Letter, I suggest completing the slideshow first, the Secret Sinner game second, and the worksheet third (or send it home as homework).

This fun geography skill activity is great for your students on Valentine's Day! We all know how students get excited on Valentine's Day! Through this activity, not only will they have fun working together or individually to solve the puzzle, but they will also have the opportunity to practice reading absolute location —latitude and longitude — coordinate grid system. Each moment is a teaching moment, and this will allow reinforcement of their map reading skills. They will use the absolute locations that are provided on the key and identify the points on the coordinate grid, drawing one line from one point to another. End the end, they have a photo to color and decorate!

Task cards to practice future time clauses and conjunctions of time, such as - when, while, as soon as, until, after, before, once, by the time and whenever. INSTRUCTIONS:

Kaboom! Game

• print out and cut up the cards, laminate (optional)
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and finishing the sentence - they need to select the correct option or make a sentence using cues
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card
• if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back, feel free to use as many (or as few) Kaboom! card as you wish
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Scoot Game

• use the numbered Kaboom! sentence cards, each student gets a recording sheet
• place one card on each student's desk. If you have fewer students than cards, feel free to not use the whole deck.
• plan a route, make sure your students understand which way they are supposed to move
• start the game by having each pupil write the answer to their card on their answer sheet
• when students are finished, call out "SCOOT" and they move to their neighbour's desk where they write the answer to the card on that desk
• call out "SCOOT" again, students move again, continue until students have answered all the cards
• answer sheets can be corrected with the whole group, in pairs or collected for a later correction

Sentence Domino

• print out and cut up, laminate (optional)
• to be used in pairs or small groups - print out a few copies
• pupils look for pairs - main clause with the corresponding time clause - which they place next to each other creating a line of matching cards

The Snowball Game is an interactive activity instead of doing a worksheet. It is an engaging and fun way to practice the direct object pronouns. This is a great way to get students up and moving while learning harder concepts.

Students start with one sentence in Spanish that they rewrite on their answer key replacing the direct object with the direct object pronoun. The student then crumbles up his sentence (snowball) and tosses it to another student. The students try to rewrite as many sentences as possible with the direct object pronouns before the time is up.

Easy prep! Directions are included. Just print the student answer key and sentence "snowballs" and have fun!

Other reasons to play the snowball game to practice Direct Object Pronouns:
