Prep for this activity DOES INCLUDE SOME TIME ON YOUR PART! Make a copy of each page, insert into clear pocket, dry erase pocket, or use as individual worksheets and watch as the giggles get started. My students LOVE these activities. I cannot make them fast enough.

Detailed instructions for each activity are set out at the top of each activity and could not be easier.

There is a little cutting and laminating involved with some activities but many use clear folders to make your job easier!

Perfect for a sub binder, emergency plans, or as a back up activity when you happen to have a few minutes to spare. A great set to have on hand as an extra centre activity at Halloween time. Your K-3 Immersion students will love them!

When to use this resource in the classroom:

These activity sheets are Halloween themed and can be used for the entire month of October and even into the week following Halloween. Students love using them and they can be helpful for follow-up assessment. Just in time for progress reporting period!

Sometimes, a little oral activity is all your Core students need to practice a concept, have fun, or be on their best behaviour for a substitute. This type of game is used everyday in my Core French classroom. They hear the sentences repetitively, learn new vocabulary and reinforce their learned concepts.

Do you teach a foreign language to your students? This packet contains two center activities that help teach colors in English, Spanish and French! It is differentiated so that students who need more help can use the colored word cards and those who are more advanced can use the black and white cards. The first center activity, the students match the color name to the color splat on the color mats. There are color mats available in English, Spanish and French with word cards available with each color. Use Velcro on the word cards and the blank spaces to allow the word cards to stay in place. The second center activity is a matching/memory game where students pair the colored splat card with the correct color word. This center is also available in English, Spanish and French. Students of all ages will enjoy putting this French possessive adjectives puzzle together. Divide your students into small groups and give each group a photocopy of the puzzle. Have them cut out the squares, mix them up, and put them back together again matching the possessive adjectives in French and English. Once they've done it a few times you could have a class competition to see which group and put the puzzle together the fastest. They love it!!

French Dots and Boxes Game - CHEZ LE MÉDECIN - No prep printable

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure and pronunciation for the target vocabulary! This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. See below for the included vocabulary. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your component. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the words on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.

This is a freebie for you!

This game of "Four Corners" is not new or unique; however, this one will work great for your middle schoolers who need to get up and move, and you'll find they are more apt to share without raising their hands or writing it down. This quick and easy, no prep and no printing activity will allow you to truly get to know them on a personal level very quickly.

It's HIGHLY visual so this could even fly in a Core French classroom (Grades 5 - 9); however, I use it in an immersion setting (Grades 5 and 6). It could comfortably be used in any Immersion or French first-language classroom (Grades 3 - 9). As with all of my products, it's not at all babyish and doesn't feature fonts that are frilly or hard-to-read.

For this activity, simply project and GO. I let my students know that they will have to choose their response and move to the corner of the room that suits their answer. You can either click through the slides, have a student touch your SmartBoard to move them along, or you can use a remote clicker or mouse (I do while I'm playing!) to keep the slides rolling.

This Google Slide Deck features :

• 29 pre-created, non-modifiable question slides with 4 options to choose from.
• A template for you to use if you'd like to add in your own questions at the end of the presentation.

Other ways to play:

• I've also allowed students independently to each create a slide and add it into the mix on day 2! Should you choose this option, simply copy the last slide into a Google Slide (11" x 8.5") and share a copy to each student in Google Classroom. Let the magic begin!
• You can choose to extend this activity by having your students huddled in their corners chat about their preferences, or share with the whole group. You can also (I do!!) play WITH them and get to know your students based on these small conversations in the "corners" of your classroom.

Looking for a fun game to get your students speaking French? Use this game to have students practice forming questions and speaking French using vocabulary for Valentine's Day.

Included:

French and English version

French only version

Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and do a whole class activity.

This game includes 40 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words.

One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word.

EST-CE QUE…….

… tu es une personne?

… tu es un animal?

… tu es un minéral?

… tu es un endroit?

… tu es un aliment?

… tu es une plante?

… tu es un objet?

The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT

Alternative game play:

To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
