"I have, Who has?" is a fun and engaging whole-class game for your French class to practice vocabulary. The vocabulary used on the cards covers animals (please download the preview to view the terms used). This game includes 2 versions of the activity in a zipped file - one with the images in color and another with the images in black and white. Each set includes the same 32 cards as well as directions, an answer key, and a student answer sheet. My students love playing this game, especially when I time them. They love trying to beat their times.

• A simple spin on the classic game of I SPY ("Cherche et trouve" ou "C'est moi l'espion") geared towards Core French/FSL students in which they are first given practice with the structure: "Est-ce que c'est..." and answering the question with the affirmative, "oui, c'est..." or the negative, "non, ce n'est pas..."

• Students are then provided an opportunity to take turns being the spy - using objects in your classroom.

This BINGO card is a great ice breaker for the first days of French class! Each student receives a card and then moves around the classroom meeting new people and asking questions in English to get to know them better. When they find someone who can say "Oui" to a box, they will cross it off and write that person's name on it. The first person to get a BINGO reads their card out loud so the class can get to know their new friends as well!

This activity is designed for students with no previous French knowledge (MS French, Intro to Languages, Foundations of French, and French I), but my returning French 2 students loved it as well.

My (very) low-level middle-schoolers love learning about niche objects and concepts in Core French. I use their interests and personalities to create engaging projects that meet the outcomes. I actively use this particular project with grades 4, 5 and 6 but it could easily be used in a grade 7 or even grade 8 classrooms. Classroom management in a middle school Core French classroom can be dicey! That's why I engage my students as much as possible to keep em' on their toes! Prof du jour is a part of my everyday routine, where a different student each day is given the opportunity to lead the discussions with their peers and to give them confidence in French.
