By Jennifer Arnold
Ready to spice up your lessons on Shakespeare’s plays?
Imagine your students passionately delivering lines like, “Thou art a boil, a plague sore, an embossed carbuncle!” Yep, we’re talking about Shakespearean insults, and this printable game is the ultimate way to engage middle and high schoolers while teaching the Bard’s wit and wordplay!
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT FOR YOUR CLASSROOM OR HOMESCHOOL:
Interactive Learning: Your students will dive headfirst into Shakespearean language through fun, competitive “duels.”
Drama Meets Creativity: They’ll use accents, gestures, and all the flair to bring the insults to life.
No Prep Required: Just print, set up, and let the hilarity unfold!
WHAT YOU'LL GET:

NO Prep- just print and play! Easy setup for classrooms, drama clubs, or homeschool groups.
HOW IT WORKS:
Pair Up or Team Up: Students get their insults ready.
The Duel Begins: With dramatic flair, they throw Shakespearean shade at their opponent.
Audience Votes: The most creative and theatrical delivery wins!
Crown a Champion: Continue the duels until the Shakespearean Insult Champion reigns supreme.

WHY BUY THIS?
Aren’t we all a little more engaged when material is presented to us in a fun way? Turning a simple worksheet or practice test into a review game captures students’ attention and increases their motivation to participate. If your classroom is anything like mine, you know that behavior problems are minimal when student engagement is high.
With this customizable game board, you can turn any worksheet, practice test, or topic into an irresistible game that students are begging you to play.
I know it can be nearly impossible to find pre made review games that perfectly align with your curriculum.
Let’s say you're a 4th-grade teacher using the Bridges math curriculum and want to review for the unit 3 math test at the end of the week.
The odds of finding a review game for this specific test on TeachShare are pretty slim, so save the time spent searching for something and create a game yourself.
This editable template allows you to create a jeopardy-style review game to match exactly what you want students to learn and practice. Just divide the material into the main categories and input the questions and answers into the game board. BOOM, it’s ready to play!
I’ve even included a question planning template and step-by-step instructions to make the planning process even easier for you!
The options are endless. Create as many different games as you want and play them for years to come.

Looking to the Past: Verb Tense Activity - Instagram Themed
By A Teachers Sidekick
These are fake Instagram posts that have pictures of activities. One post shows the activity happening in the present and the other post shows the activity either finished or happening in the past. The teacher will need to cut out the Instagram posts and the text boxes. Then the students will need to place the descriptions (inside the text boxes) with the correct Instagram post. The majority of the practice with this activity is focused on past tense, but there is also present and future tense.
**An extension for the activity is to have the students underline and identify the verb that shows the tense of the sentence.**
This can be used for multiple grade levels and would be a great support activity for upper elementary and middle school students who need practice with verb tenses (especially past tense).
I hope you enjoy it. Please rate and review.

This fun front-loading lesson includes 10 short reading passages and a final mystery word that students must unscramble. Each card reveals a new code word. The correct code words are not only found on a different card but also must be found IN the reading passage.
⚠️ CAUTION: Should you choose to use the activity as a review activity, the questions would be too easy and the completion time would be too quick. Therefore, I highly encourage this activity to introduce a new unit.
How does it work?
Students choose a reading card to start at and may start at ANY card. They read the passage and look at the question at the bottom labeled “code word”. The code word for THAT card number will lead them to a different card. But here’s the catch… students will NOT know where to find the answer so they will have to visit, skim, browse and revisit the clue cards and reading passages several times to find the answer they are seeking. (The more times they read or skim, the greater the chances of the info sinking in!)
Is it still a scavenger hunt?
It sure is! Students are roaming around the room hunting for answers. With large groups it’s often too hard to hide clues without the first group giving away the location once a clue has been found. This format ensures that ALL students can participate, and the “answers” will not be revealed by students who “finish” first.
You can hang the cards on the wall, scatter them on the floor, place them on desks, hide them or use as stations. How you choose to set it up in your classroom is up to you.
Students can work in pairs (or individually) and race to complete 10 questions, secret word and secret code. A friendly competition always increases engagement.
Skills Included:
✓ Reading Comprehension
✓ Critical Thinking
✓ Citing Evidence
✓ Problem Solving
