For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm a boat/vessel that they wanted to have in the water, and water kind of body of water they wanted in their artwork. We discussed Winslow Homer, and his style of art. Students sketched their drawing and painted the larger areas first. Students painted the boat, smaller details and reflections last. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to sketch themselves in a Picasso-inspired style-abstract. Students exaggerated their facial features and placed them in different areas on their face. Students were asked to outline their artwork with a black sharpie marker. Students used watercolor paint to add vibrant, bold colors to their beautiful artwork. Contrast was a focus. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing different trees. Next, I taught students how to draw a tree that has branches extending to the edge of the paper. I demonstrated how to outline and fill in the tree. Students created their own stained-glass tree artwork on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Students used mostly watercolor paints for their artwork. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing melting clocks. Next, I taught students how to draw a Dali-melting clock. I demonstrated how to draw a melting clock with numbers, step-by-step. Students created their own melting clock drawing on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Younger grades used crayons. Older grades used oil pastels. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm a dragons & castle drawing inside their sketchbook. Foreground, middle ground, and background were emphasized throughout the 4–5-day unit. I asked students to lightly redraw the composition onto watercolor paper. I asked students to paint the larger areas first and paint the dragon and details last. I hope you and your kiddos love this! This creative Geometric Shapes Collage: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to make a Geometric Shapes Collage showing squares, rectangles, triangles, and/or circles. Students get to choose three of their favorite colors to work with. Students choose which colors go on top the base color papers. Students learned folding, cutting, gluing, and placing (overlapping) skills during this 1-to-2-Day Art Unit. Painting Art: Line Movement. Fall/Autumn.

This creative Line Movement Painting Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to draw 5-10 lines with different movements. After drawing these lines, students outlined them with a crayon. Students painted each section with a different color of watercolor paints. This assignment is an excellent opportunity for students to get better with their painting skills. Students are responsible for two separate artworks for this assignment. Painting Art: Field of Flowers-Monet-inspired. Fall/Autumn.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Field of Flowers Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked the students to start right on a 18x24-inch Final Copy Paper. Students were asked to draw 15-30 large flowers all over their paper. Students were allowed to paint the flowers with any colors they wanted. When the artwork was dry students outlined all the flowers with a black sharpie marker. Some collage skills were added to the assignment at the end of the unit when students needed to cut/glue down strips of construction paper to the bottom of the Final Copy Field of Flowers, to look like fence posts. For this assignment, I asked students to make a Cool Sunshades Self Portrait, celebrating the joy of themselves. Students create a self-portrait of themselves, but they don’t need to worry about drawing their eyes-we will have cool sunshades covering them. The sunshades will have designs and details that also help describe themselves to others. Materials will be mainly colored pencils and crayons. This is a 4–5-day assignment. For this assignment, I asked students to make an awesome artwork out of a simple “circle”. Students start with a brainstorming circle paper. After brainstorming different circle designs, students choose their favorite for a Final Copy Paper. Art materials could be colored pencils, crayons, watercolor paint, and/or color sharpies. *CONTRAST, PATTERN, REPETITION, MOVEMENT, ETC. This is a 2-3-day assignment.

How do I set up the activity?
Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks (you can prepare one or even use my digital lock included in this kit if you wish to), envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.
Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?
Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual puzzles is all you need! If you choose to use the digital version to save paper and ink, then you will only need to print the QR codes for the Mission (get the kids to scan and read this first), Hint Cards and Puzzle Tasks 1-9.
Do I have to print out the Mystery Door for the game?
Nope! I suggest that you show the picture of the door + QR code on your phone or laptop for pupils to scan and enter their 4-digit secret code. You can also use an actual lock where the kids can actually enter the 4-digit secret codes to complete the game.

For this assignment, I asked students to make an Underwater Perspective Walkway, celebrating the joy of 1-point perspective and sea life. Students brainstorm their ideas in a sketchbook, and learn how to draw in 1-point perspective (step-by-step demonstrations). Measurements w/ rulers and yardsticks are learned. A compass is used for the curves. Students take the sketch to Final Copy paper and outline important features. Materials will be mainly colored pencils and transparent watercolor blue wash paints. This is a 3-5-day assignment.

In this elementary school counseling empathy lesson, students will target their understanding of feelings and emotions. Students choose a discussion card, identify the highlighted emotion by sliding the sunglasses up or down, and then discuss how the particular situation on their card would make them feel.
