FRENCH HALLOWEEN Cutie Pairs Writing Activity-Build vocabulary-WRITING PROMPT
By La trousse de Madame
French HALLOWEEN Cutie Pairs Writing Prompt
A terrific, no prep activity for your blossoming K-4 French writers who may be struggling to take risks with their writing skills. The students absolutely LOVE this activity and have been asking me for days when we get to do ‘le gateau et la crème glacée’. I gradually give students autonomy by giving them the freedom to talk about what they think the Food Pairs have in common.
What to do:
Make a class set of copies of one of the cutie pairs.
Students colour, write, and cut out the writing strip.
Finally, students cut and paste the ends of the writing strip to the back of each item in the pair. Fold in the middle and students can show the big reveal!
Pairs included:
Each set is available in Colour format followed by Black and White

-fantôme fille et maison hantée
-chauve-souris et lune
-chauve-souris cercueil

This product includes one board game, directions on how to play the game, and 1-9 multiplication/division fact cards. You can choose whether you have your students practice their basic multiplication facts, division facts, or a combination of both. Review skills in an engaging, fun way this Halloween! Students will race to be the first one to reach the basket of Halloween candy while practicing math facts along the way.
Directions on how to play: Students will play in pairs. They must create a spinner using a pencil and paperclip. Spin the spinner to find out how many spaces you move. Before moving your game piece, answer one of the equations. If you get it correct, you can move that many spaces forward. If you answer the equation incorrectly, you lose your turn.
If you land on the black cat's footprints, follow the footsteps to advance on the board up to where the black cat is.
If you land on the spiderweb, slide down to the space where it ends with the spider.
