Play French scattergories when you need quick, no prep activities to play with your class while they practice their French vocabulary, oral, and written skills. This bundle of categories games includes many engaging activities with different French vocabulary themes which work well as ice-breakers. The categories vary from: "le titre d'un livre" to "le nom d'une ville ou pays". This game is can be adapted for a variety of grades depending on the number of games you play as well as the time allotted for each game.

Play as a full class with the students playing individually or in pairs or teams to complete each round. The game can be made as short or long as you want it, so it's also a fun time filler that keeps students thinking.

Students or teams write in answers for each category on the list. When the timer’s up, stop writing and share answers for scoring.

French Verb Conjugation Board Games - PRESENT TENSE GROWING BUNDLE - No Prep Printables

Board games are a fun way to practice conjugating regular and irregular verbs in the present tense. This growing bundle will save you 50%. Once you own the bundle, all future worksheets that I add will be yours at no additional cost (though the price of the bundle will increase accordingly).

Each board game is one page and requires absolutely no prep. You will need to provide dice and game pieces for each player. Games include 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. There are a few tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy! Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation.

These week-long reading programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level primary or secondary levels, and they will have your students reading tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi. Each of the week-long reading themes in this program includes five readings with comprehension questions for Monday through Friday. Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete reading and writing program. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

Use these weekly no-prep reading activities with many different levels whether you teach in immersion, core, or traditional settings.

Here’s how to use this reading program + accompanying full-year writing component which is sold separately:

✍Lundi: LIRE - Read paragraph #1 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Lundi: ÉCRIRE - Je dessine - Give students a drawing page with a writing prompt at the top. This will have them beginning to think about the writing theme for the week and is their first pre-writing assignment. Kids love drawing, and the pictures they draw will later serve as inspiration!

✍Mardi: LIRE - Read paragraph #2 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mardi: ÉCRIRE - Mon livret de vocabulaire - Each student receives a booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used French words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them colour it.

✍Mercredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #3 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Mercredi: ÉCRIRE - Vocabulaire - Students go back to their vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.”

✍Jeudi: LIRE - Read paragraph #4 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Jeudi: ÉCRIRE - Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections.

✍Vendredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #5 and answer three comprehension questions

✍Vendredi: ÉCRIRE - Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and question words that they can ask themselves while writing: qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment

This ten-week French reading program will have your students reading every day of the week. These week-long reading programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level primary or secondary levels, and they will have your students reading tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi. Each of the week-long reading themes in this program includes five readings with comprehension questions for Monday through Friday. You get a total of 50 no-prep, black and white, one page readings and questions. Check out the video preview to see exactly how this program works.

These readings are a great way to reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures, and they are meant to accompany my whole year French writing and vocabulary programs which follow the same themes.

Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete reading and writing program. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.

Use these weekly no-prep reading activities with many different levels whether you teach in immersion, core, or traditional settings.
